A photograph of an outdoor temple courtyard under a white canopy hung with colourful paper lanterns and a loudspeaker. At left a red-and-gold shivalinga stands on a red pedestal, adorned with flower garlands. A bearded man in a rust-coloured dhoti and garland stands with hands folded near a square fire pit lined with white flowers. Around him stand drummers in orange dhotis, women in saffron, teal and blue saris, men in white dhotis and orange shawls, and a cameraman filming in white. Coconut palms and red buildings surround the courtyard. Roughly two dozen people are visible.

A procession under an open-sided pavilion with palm trees beyond. In the centre, a man in a black turban-like headpiece, a red-maroon robe and a red-and-white floral garland stands with palms pressed together in greeting. Behind him, a man holds a large ornate golden parasol and another holds a decorated red-and-black umbrella. Devotees in white dhotis and shirts stand with folded hands on the left, while saffron-robed attendants in orange cloth and rudraksha malas carry offering trays and stand on the right. A square fire pit lined with wood sits at the lower left. A photographer in the foreground captures the scene. Visible identity cues are insufficient for a confident identification of the central man, so he is described by role only.

On the left, a seated figure in saffron-orange robes with a red shawl sits on an ornate golden throne beneath a decorative parasol, with a row of standing attendants in orange and red robes behind. A large open area in the centre has a striped rug and clay pots with sugarcane and offerings. A woman in a white sari stands at right near the pots, while other people in white and orange clothes stand in rows. Colourful kolam floor art with orange, purple and yellow petals lies in the foreground. Palm trees and small flags are visible beyond the pavilion.

A photograph of a ceremony under a tin-roofed pavilion hung with orange and white flag bunting, paper stars and garlands. In the foreground a square brick fire pit (homa kunda) is laid out, with flower petals scattered around it. A woman at right, in an orange and gold sari with a white flower garland, stands with hands together and an orange shawl draped over her shoulder. Beside her a man in a white dhoti and orange shawl holds a small brass vessel. Around them, men in white dhotis and orange shawls raise brass kalashas (pots) overhead, and some hold their hands in anjali. A man in white kneels at left, photographing the scene with a camera. Brass lamps, a flower arrangement and ritual items sit on a cloth at lower left. Onlookers stand behind in the crowd, including older women in saris.

Outdoor ashram courtyard with a patterned floor of red-and-white kolam designs and striped rugs laid along the path. Coconut palms and a corrugated roof shelter the open hall. A line of young people in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls stands on both sides, several with hands pressed in anjali. Drummers in orange clothes play large drums, and a man in orange carries a decorated pot or offering basket on his shoulder while walking through a gateway. A man on the left wears a white dhoti with gold border, gold necklaces and a sacred thread, with hands folded. A woman in a white sari holds a small plate. A large decorated umbrella with red and colourful tassels stands at the top right, with a green tractor behind. The scene looks like a temple-style procession and welcome.

Outdoor flag-hoisting ceremony at the 2008 Brahmotsava under a corrugated tin canopy, with palm trees behind. Several men in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls stand on a striped mat beside a table draped in orange cloth, holding ritual implements and a garland, while a standing man in a saffron shawl receives a flower garland. Behind them, white-clad devotees, some carrying drums, gather in a procession. A colourful umbrella, tall decorated poles with geometric patterns and bird motifs, and a small golden-topped shrine structure frame the scene. Brass plates of flowers and offerings sit on the table. Spectators in the foreground watch and photograph.

Outdoor temple-courtyard procession under a corrugated-roof pavilion with palm and shade trees. Many people in saffron and orange robes and white dhotis gather in a crowd. Two men at centre carry a decorated palanquin-like structure, and a drummer in orange plays a large drum at right. A tall wooden ritual flagpole with a trident-like finial rises at left. Ornate red and gold umbrellas and canopies are visible, and a child in orange stands near the foreground. Pongal festivities are noted on the page, but the scene itself shows a procession with drums and palanquin.
