November 10 20112011-11-10November 10 20112011-11-10Photo of a seated group of saffron-robed sadhus and devotees in a hall with red curtains and red chairs behind them. In the foreground, three bald men in orange cloths with rudraksha malas sit with palms pressed together in namaskar; one has his eyes closed in prayer. Their torsos bear white horizontal marks. Brass puja vessels, a small brass cup, and a plate of flower petals and fruit sit on the floor in front of them. Behind, more seated participants in orange and red garments and white forehead markings sit close together. Attribution of the scene to a person is unclear from appearance.2013-12-10Two shaved-headed men in saffron-orange robes sit cross-legged on a floor, palms pressed together in prayer with eyes closed. Both wear white horizontal tilak stripes on forehead and arms, and rudraksha malas. The man on the right has a red bindi and a gold bangle. Behind them, younger boys in red-maroon robes sit with hands folded, and brass puja plates with flowers, fruit and lamps lie on low tables. Red chairs and stanchions appear in the background of a hall.2013-12-04Night outdoor photo of several men seated on the ground in prayer posture with palms pressed together. Four men are prominent: the leftmost wears white dhoti and a gold-and-bead garland, the next two wear saffron-orange wraps with gold borders and beaded malas, and the rightmost wears a white dhoti with gold border, spectacles, and a vertical tilak on the forehead. Before them is a brick-like platform with a lit oil lamp, marigold-type flowers and offerings. Background shows more seated devotees and orange-red decorations.2011-11-10A photograph of a group of people seated in prayer with palms pressed together in namaste during an evening ritual. In the foreground a shaved-headed man wears saffron-orange robes over a bare upper body, with a white tilak on his forehead and a rudraksha mala around his neck, eyes closed. Beside him an older man in white dhoti and shawl with a yellow sacred thread also holds his hands in anjali. Behind them, other seated devotees in orange and white clothing pray, and a tripod and brass vessel sit at the lower edge.2010-11-23A shaven-headed man in saffron-orange robes and gold necklaces carries a silver tray with a red cloth bundle tied with gold-yellow ribbon, bowing his head toward it. Behind him a second man in orange clothing stands in the foreground, with a blurred crowd of people in white clothes in the background, some with hands folded in prayer. The setting appears to be an outdoor evening ceremony.2011-11-10A hall with pink walls and hanging colourful banners shows several seated devotees in prayer with palms pressed together at the chest. The foreground men wear saffron-orange robes with gold borders, rudraksha malas and bangles, and one has a white shirt-like wrap. Behind them, others in white dhotis sit in rows with people in the background, and small brass vessels and offering dishes rest on the floor mats. Two foreground men are bare-chested with sandalwood markings. Visible people appear as devotees rather than a clearly identifiable a person, so no candidate is confirmed.2013-02-02December 10 20132013-12-10Several shaved-headed men in orange and maroon sannyasi-style cloths stand with palms pressed together in anjali mudra at a devotional gathering. The central man wears a dark rudraksha mala, a red bindi and white tilak, and a gold bracelet. Beside him a man in orange with a rudraksha mala and wristwatch presses his palms together, and a young man in maroon with hoop earrings smiles. Blurred devotees in white and orange stand behind them.2013-06-14A photograph of a seated group in prayer with palms pressed together at a ritual gathering. In the centre, a bald man in an orange robe with an orange and gold shawl and a beaded necklace sits with hands folded and eyes closed; no name or distinctive cue establishes who he is, so this is a devotee-style figure with an uncertain identity. To his left a younger man in white dhoti and gold-bordered shawl with a rudraksha mala kneels with hands folded, and to his right a younger man in orange robe and rudraksha mala does the same. In the foreground, the backs of women in red and orange saris are visible, one with a long braid. Behind them, other seated participants in white and a table with green leaf plates of food are visible in soft focus.2012-04-26 +1 copiesDecember 13 20132013-12-13
