A photograph of a doorway procession inside a decorated hall. In the centre, a man with long dark hair, wearing saffron-orange robes and a red-and-white flower garland with a gold necklace, walks forward with palms pressed together in namaste. Beside him, a bearded man in orange robes walks, and to the right a man in orange robes holds a silver tray with offerings. Behind them, men in white shirts with lanyards and a man in white with a red shawl follow. On the left, women in white saris with folded hands line the rail, and banana leaves and palm fronds decorate the archway, with coconut-palm foliage visible outside. Some devotees wear white clothing.2010-02-12A photograph of a covered hall with steel railings where devotees line both sides, many with palms pressed together in anjali. At centre, a man with long dark hair and a forehead tilak walks forward in a saffron-orange robe with hands folded in prayer, followed closely by a second sannyasi in orange wearing a similar wrap. Devotees on the left wear yellow, white and pink saris and gold bangles; on the right, heads and folded hands are visible. Colourful patterned banners hang from the ceiling frame, and sunlight shows through a doorway at the back. Appearance-based candidate: a person, with long swept hair, saffron robe and tilak, walking in procession as a sannyasi receiving darshan-style salutations.2009-12-09December 24 20092009-12-24December 06 20092009-12-06January 01 20122012-01-01A photograph of a procession walking down a red-carpeted lane lined with steel railings. A man with long dark hair and a red tilak wears an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, a red-and-white flower garland, and a gold-and-red bead necklace, holding a long staff and smiling with palms pressed together in greeting. Beside him walks a shaved-headed man in white dhoti and upper cloth with a gold border and rudraksha mala, also in namaste. Devotees line both sides in white and orange clothes, many with hands folded. Behind them stands a decorated canopy with tassels, paper-leaf bunting and colourful cloth hangings in a temple-like setting.2012-01-01A procession in a covered, decorated hall lined with devotees pressed against metal barriers, many with palms joined in namaskar. At centre, a man with long hair, a long garland of white and multicolour flowers, rudraksha-style beads and a trident-topped staff walks in orange robes, barefoot, under a colourful umbrella-canopy carried by attendants. A second man in orange with a beaded necklace walks ahead, and a bearded attendant in orange stands nearby. Bystanders in white, saffron and sari colours line the path, and a camera operator films from the lower right. Paper-star decorations hang overhead.2009-12-23A photograph taken from inside a doorway looking out at a festival procession. A central figure in an orange-saffron robe with long dark hair and a white-and-multicolour garland stands with palms pressed together in namaste. Behind him, a large pink-and-white fringed ceremonial parasol is held aloft, and smaller colourful parasols appear beside it. Several men in white shirts and white dhotis stand and kneel nearby, one kneeling on the threshold in white with a dark shawl, and others wear white shirts and dhotis in the crowd outside. Strings of marigold garlands hang across the top of the doorway, and the outdoor setting shows a light-coloured ground and a metal structure in the background.2006-12-28A figure in an orange saffron robe with a long red, yellow and white flower garland stands in a procession lane with palms pressed together in namaste. Two men in orange robes walk behind, one with a long dark beard and a gold necklace. Along both sides, devotees line metal railings, many with palms joined; men in white dhotis and shirts and women in colourful saris and blue tops are visible. Orange-and-multicolour decorative umbrellas and yellow flower decorations hang above. The setting is a bright indoor hall. The central figure has long hair and distinctive orange-and-garland presentation, consistent with the swami label on the page, so the appearance-based candidate is a person in a welcoming procession.2009-12-24December 29 20082008-12-29December 24 20092009-12-24December 28 20082008-12-28 +1 copies
