Devotees line both sides with hands pressed together in anjali; women wear saris in yellow, maroon, pink and gold, and a small child stands at left. Men in white shirts and dhotis stand in the group behind him. Behind the entrance arch hang bunches of green bananas on banana plants, with brass oil lamps on pedestals and red-and-gold railings. The figure has the saffron robe and garland cues of a sannyasi, so this appearance-based candidate is described as a person receiving devotee greeting at the entrance; the setting appears to be a house visit or satsang welcome.2010-01-21Outdoor temple entrance scene with a smiling man in saffron-orange robes and a yellow tilak on his forehead, a large garland of yellow marigolds and red flowers draped around his neck, hands raised in front of his face. Around them, women in white and cream saris with folded hands and sindoor and bangles stand and kneel in prayer. Two saffron-robed attendants stand near a doorway, and a photographer with a camera is at right.
