Ornate multicoloured umbrellas with tasselled fringes and yellow-and-blue panels are held aloft above the crowd. In the centre, a figure in orange robes wears a large red-and-orange garland, and a woman in a white sari with a yellow border carries flowers, and others in saffron and orange robes walk nearby. Many people wear white dhotis and kurtas with yellow shawls. In the foreground a drummer in white clothes plays a barrel drum with a strap over his shoulder, and a man with a sacred thread and tilak blows a horn-like instrument. Drummers in white dhotis and cream shirts beat dhol drums with long wooden sticks, and a bare-chested musician in a white shirt blows a long brass horn. Behind them a shaved-headed figure in orange-red robes walks barefoot with a garlanded man, and a man in a grey-blue shirt with a red shawl plays a drum. Two decorated umbrellas and a tall trident-topped staff rise above the crowd, which includes men in white and yellow sashes. Cream-coloured tents and a sound system stand in the background.2010-01-02 +1 copiesA festival procession moves along a dirt road lined with palm trees under a clear blue sky.
