A photograph of saffron-robed men walking barefoot along a stone-paved temple path, with a gopuram tower and carved stone pillars behind them. In the centre, a long-haired man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with ornate gold-toned adornments on his upper arms and a garland of beads around his neck, walks with his palms pressed together in namaste. Around him, orange-clad devotees with rudraksha-style beaded malas walk in procession, and a man in a white kurta and dhoti walks in front on the right. Several people in white and orange clothing move along the walkway, some with bare feet. The sanctum's gopuram and temple structure are visible in the background. Appearance-based probable identification of the central figure as Swamiji based on distinctive saffron clothing, long swept-back hair, ornate adornments and bead garlands.2011-12-20December 20 20112011-12-20December 20 20112011-12-20Photograph of saffron-robed sannyasis walking down a stone temple step outside a temple entrance, with a crowd of devotees behind them. In the foreground left, a bald sannyasi in orange cloth wears a dark rudraksha mala and carries a bundle of red and yellow flower garlands. The central figure, barefoot and wearing an orange dhoti with a gold-trimmed shawl, has a long rudraksha-style gold necklace of pale flowers, a brown waist sash and a white tilak on his forehead. On the right, a bald sannyasi in orange robes with a dark mala holds a folded white paper. Behind them, men and women in orange, white and red clothing climb the steps. A Tamil sign on the wall reads a directive about darshan. The figure at centre appears to be a person of distinctive presentation; identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2012-09-12December 20 20112011-12-20September 26 20112011-09-26September 09 20112011-09-09February 08 20122012-02-08Outdoor photograph of a procession walking along a stone temple wall toward a gopuram tower in Tiruvannamalai. In the foreground, a man in saffron robes and gold beaded necklaces walks with palms pressed together; beside him, a long-haired man in a saffron robe wears a garland of yellow, white and red flowers, hands folded in greeting, with tilak on his forehead. Behind them, another saffron-robed man in gold necklaces, a man in white with a yellow shawl, and other devotees in white and saffron follow. A cameraman with a tripod is visible in the crowd. A mountain and palm trees rise behind the temple.2010-01-08A group of saffron-robed sannyasis walks barefoot along a paved street in front of a temple gateway. The central man wears an orange dhoti and shawl with gold borders and a long ornate gold bead necklace, with a red bindi on his forehead. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold-bordered shawls and white-and-orange-clad monastics carry a small brass vessel and an orange cloth bag. Sandalwood tilaka marks cover several foreheads, and rudraksha malas hang on many chests. Behind them, a metal gate and shopfronts line the street. Appearance cues alone are not sufficient to identify the central figure, so his role is described as a saffron-clad sannyasi leading the procession.2011-09-26A photograph of a group walking out of a temple doorway, with orange garlands and marigold strands hanging from the entrance arch. In the centre, a bare-chested man in an orange dhoti with a gold-bordered cloth and a rudraksha mala walks with his hands folded in front of his chest. Beside him, a man in an orange-clad dhoti with a long orange-and-yellow flower garland and a gold ceremonial necklace walks barefoot, with long swept-back hair. On the right, a man in white clothes folds his hands in greeting, and an older man in a grey shirt walks ahead on the left. A younger bare-chested man in orange stands at the far left wearing a red bead necklace. A uniformed guard stands at the left edge, and women in red and orange saris stand at the right. Several other devotees are visible in the background.2011-12-08December 20 20112011-12-20
