October 06 20062006-10-06A seated gathering of men in white ritual clothes and white shirts, many wearing rudraksha malas and name badges, inside a plain hall with white plastic chairs lined along the far wall. Several men clap or hold their hands together in devotion, and one standing man in a white striped shirt with a mala stands at the centre. Above, yellow and multicoloured geometric cloth hangings hang from the ceiling, and a sign on the left reads silence and no cell phones or photography prohibited. No one in the scene is clearly identifiable as a person, so no candidate is marked.2008-04-12A hall with rows of white plastic chairs in the foreground, empty in the lower left, while a standing crowd of men in white and cream kurtas and dhotis fills the middle and back. Several men wear white shawls or garlands and beaded necklaces; a man in the centre front wears a white shirt, dark trousers and a long beaded necklace. Hanging from the ceiling are tall yellow and blue banners with red and white diamond patterns, with loudspeakers and a ceiling fan visible. Most wear white shirts or kurtas with white dhotis and rudraksha-style beaded necklaces, and several are barefoot. Behind them hangs a dark blue curtain with a red velvet drape above, a colourful striped garland edge at right, and a small gold deity murti on a stand at lower right. A tall-backed chair and a small television sit at the left edge against a pale block wall with a blue 'NO MOBILE' sign. The men appear to be devotees attending an ananda samajam gathering.2007-02-24A photograph of a crowded indoor hall where a long line of men in white shirts and white dhotis stands facing a wall. In the foreground, a young man on the left wears a rudraksha mala around his neck, and another man on the right has his back turned. Behind them, several men stand with hands pressed together in namaste, and one holds a black bag. Overhead hangs a saffron-yellow cloth with gold trim, and wooden scaffolding frames the room. No clear a person candidate is visible, so the figures are described by role and clothing only.2006-10-08June 22 20082008-06-22August 16 20092009-08-16February 24 20072007-02-24October 08 20062006-10-08A crowd of men in plain white shirts and white dhotis stands closely packed in front of an orange backdrop and a white draped wall at an indoor event. Several men near the centre wear white with pendant necklaces. Beige plastic chairs sit at left, a fan is visible at the lower left, and a monitor on a stand is mounted near the wall. No deity, murti, or a person candidate is clearly identifiable in the frame.November 16 20092009-11-16A photograph of a large seated congregation of men dressed in white shirts and white dhotis, many wearing rudraksha malas and small round name badges with ribbons on their chests.
