Outdoor photo beneath a huge banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots and a low brick wall around its base on reddish earth. A barefoot grey-haired man in a pink-and-white checked shirt and grey trousers walks forward holding a light towel, accompanied by a small girl in a red frilly dress holding an object. Beside them a bald man in a saffron-orange robe with a red border walks alongside a younger man in white dhoti and shirt with an orange shawl. A woman in white sari stands at left with folded arms, and more men in white stand in the background. Four to six physical people are visible, including partially visible figures.2008-03-25Outdoor photo at a large, ancient banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and a wide, spreading trunk. A long-haired person in an orange-red top and orange wrap stands barefoot on sandy ground, pointing toward a stone-set opening at the base of the tree. Around them, several devotees in everyday clothes look on: a man in a dark blue shirt and white trousers, a man in a cream shirt, a woman in a maroon sari with gold border holding a handbag, a man in a grey-blue shirt, and a boy in a white shirt and blue trousers. Other people stand in the background at left.2007-12-20A photograph at a large banyan tree with many aerial roots hanging and wrapping around its trunk. Beneath the tree a small stone shrine opening with a dark interior sits near the base. A young woman with long dark hair wears an orange saffron wrap over a red top and walks barefoot toward the shrine. Around her, several people stand in a loose group on bare earth: a boy in a pink shirt and blue jeans, a man in a blue shirt and white trousers, a man in grey with glasses, a woman in a maroon sari with a handbag, and a man in an orange robe with a beaded necklace at the right edge. Several figures appear to be devotees visiting the shrine. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable by appearance here.2007-12-20Outdoor temple scene beneath a large banyan tree with dangling aerial roots. A young man in white dhoti and orange shawl holds a lit camphor flame in a brass vessel for a woman in an orange sari and a girl in a red dress. A man in saffron robes stands beside him, bare-headed and holding a brass plate. Around them, men in white and light shirts stand and watch, and a stone platform with a small brass pot sits in the foreground. Aarti is being performed at a sacred tree site.2008-03-25A photograph of a large ancient banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots and thick trunks forming a shrine-like hollow at its base. A figure in saffron-orange robes, with a draped sash over one shoulder and bare feet, stands facing the tree trunk with hands pressed to it. To the left, two men in white clothes sit cross-legged on a mat near the raised stone platform. Dry earth surrounds the tree, and a purple cloth hangs high in the branches. Sunlight filters through the green leaves.2011-02-11April 04 20082008-04-04A photograph of a massive old banyan tree with many thick aerial roots hanging from its wide spreading branches, standing on sandy ground. A man in a long orange robe with an orange shawl stands smiling at the trunk on the right, with long dark hair and a slight build, and appears to be an in_person candidate only by an orange robe and long hair, which is not distinctive enough to confirm identity; he is described as a sannyasi. Two other men in white dhotis with orange shawls stand at the left edge, partly cropped. A purple and white logo appears in the upper left corner.2006-10-07Outdoor photo beneath a huge old banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches. A man in a rust-red and orange dhoti-style garment with a long yellow-orange beaded necklace walks across sandy ground toward the viewer, shielded by a multicoloured canopy umbrella held by an attendant. Seated devotees in white clothes, several women in red and orange saris, sit on a mat in front of the tree. In the foreground a girl in a white top and a small boy in a yellow-and-white striped shirt stand, and a woman in a cream sari bends over near a rocky stone base. On the right, a dark stone deity murti stands in a red-and-white arched shrine, draped in an orange shawl, with garlands at its base. The shrine stands on a dark rock-like pedestal beside a kalasha-like brass pot and offerings. No identifiable a person figure is visible; the orange-draped figure is a statue in a shrine.2008-03-22October 07 20062006-10-07A large banyan tree with many aerial roots dominates the frame, and a group of people in saffron/orange robes and white clothing gathers around its trunk on a sandy ground. A bald monk in orange robes stands near the center, holding a small object, while a saffron-robed attendant carries a ceremonial flag with a dark red and gold design on a pole. Several people in white stand and sit at the edges, and a young child in white is visible near the right. A small white draped table and a few flower-decorated items sit at the lower left. The scene suggests a ritual gathering beneath the tree.2006-10-06Outdoor photograph beneath a large banyan tree with many aerial roots and a dirt ground.
