Several flames burn upward from the lamp's cups. An ornate gold and jewelled crown-like ornament hangs above the lamp against the drape. Pale pink and white rose petals are scattered in the foreground, and a small brass figurine and a plain metal bowl sit to the side on a metal tray. No people are visible; the scene reads as a lamp puja setup at a temple altar.2022-03-12A brass standing oil lamp (vilakku) with five lit wicks is centred on a black surface before a draped blue silk backdrop with gold zari borders and a gold coin necklace. A deity murti or figure is draped in the blue silk and wears a jewelled gold necklace with a white flower garland. In front, a silver tray holds bowls of red and pink rose petals and loose petals, with silver bowls at each side. The setting appears to be a home shrine for a Thiru Vilakku puja, honouring Devi Lakshmi. No people are visible.2022-04-02Photo 82870282022-07-11 +1 copiesPhoto 66788162022-06-27 +5 copiesA priest with bare upper body and a white dhoti bordered in gold stands at left, holding a lit oil lamp aloft toward a deity murti. The murti, a grey stone figure wearing a tall gold crown and a white and gold necklace, is set before a gold arched backdrop draped in purple cloth. It is decorated with a large garland of yellow and green fruits, red and white flowers, and orange marigold strings, and a trident rests against it. A blue and gold skirt-like draping covers its base, with a vase of flowers at lower right. The scene suggests a Kalabhairava puja.2021-03-05Photo 82920852022-07-01 +3 copiesPhoto 66802162022-07-05 +1 copiesA seated golden deity murti in a blue silk skirt and richly ornamented jewelled bodice, wearing a tall golden crown and holding a trident, is dressed with floral garlands in white, red and orange flowers. A priest in white ritual clothes with ash marks on his forehead stands at left, pouring or offering a flower over the deity's lap. Before the murti sit a golden bowl of rose petals, red roses and marigolds, and beside it a small figurine with garlands.
