August 18 20112011-08-18October 14 20112011-10-14Night photograph of a large banyan tree with many aerial roots and trunks, draped with a garland of yellow and red flowers strung between its branches. At the base sits a small concrete platform holding a row of lit oil lamps, with more small lamps scattered on the ground around it. No people are clearly visible in the frame apart from a partial hand at the right edge. The scene suggests a traditional lamp-lighting offering at a sacred tree, with the warm glow of the flames contrasting the dark background.2015-11-25A large old banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots forms a cave-like hollow at its base. A dark cave opening sits between the trunk roots, with a strand of yellow, white, pink and purple flower garlands draped across the trunk above it. A small brown clay oil lamp sits on the paved stone path in front, beside a blue sign reading DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE. No people are visible.2018-01-14December 16 20102010-12-16A large banyan tree with many aerial roots dominates the photo, its trunk wrapped with a garland of yellow and white marigold flowers and a red-and-yellow festoon. A small blue sign reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE at the base near a dark opening. To the right, a figure in an orange-red garment with long dark hair leans against the trunk in devotion, while another person in saffron-orange robes stands at the right edge.
