In the foreground, several young boys and girls wear saffron-orange turbans, saffron wraps and rudraksha malas, with vibhuti marks on their foreheads. Behind them, adult men wear saffron and white dhotis, some bare-chested with rudraksha malas, and a few wear white turbans. A lit stone lantern and dark foliage stand in the background, with more people in the crowd beyond. The scene suggests a ceremonial gathering or procession.2017-09-21January 01 20192019-01-01 +1 copiesJanuary 08 20172017-01-08Night outdoor gathering in front of a red corrugated metal fence, with a yellow arched building and a small blue-and-white device at upper left. Dense crowd of devotees in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls, many wearing rudraksha malas and white or orange vibhuti and tilak markings. Foreground young boys and women press palms together in anjali, some men and women in white traditional dress with gold-trimmed cloth. At right a bare-chested man in white dhoti and gold-bordered cloth stands near a ceremonial red-and-gold fabric. No clearly identifiable a person is visible; the scene appears to be a procession or ritual gathering, possibly part of Karthigai Deepam observances.2017-12-02Night-time outdoor gathering in a dimly lit courtyard. In the foreground, several young men in white and orange clothing stand with palms pressed together in anjali, eyes closed in devotion; one has a white tilak on his forehead. Behind them, many people in white and saffron-orange robes stand in rows. On the right, a tall figure in a long orange-red robe stands on a raised platform covered with a zebra-striped cloth, facing the group, with a crowd gathered around him. A boy in white wears a rudraksha mala. The scene suggests a darshan or satsang with devotees standing in reverent posture.2009-02-16September 21 20172017-09-21
