Outdoor flag-hoisting ceremony (dwajarohanam) at a temple courtyard surrounded by palm trees. A man in saffron-orange robes with a red rudraksha-style garland stands on a red stone base, pulling a rope that raises a flag up a tall wooden pole topped with a carved kalasha and garlands. Beside him a figure with long hair and a white shawl holds the rope, and a small Nandi statue sits in the foreground. Girls and boys in white traditional dress with orange shawls stand at left, hands joined in prayer, and devotees in orange and saffron clothing and white head cloths gather at right. A dark red and black banner with a bird emblem and Tamil-style lettering hangs at the right edge.

Outdoor temple ritual at a reddish-orange stone flagstaff, decorated with white and orange flower garlands and a tuft of greenery at its top, set on an orange stepped platform. A standing figure with a tall dark turban-style hair wrap, wearing orange-saffron robes and red-orange flower garlands, holds a lamp or incense in one hand while performing the ritual before the pillar. Behind, a photographer in a white shirt films with a camera. To the left, a black stone Nandi bull statue with a garland stands near a line of white-clad devotees with hands folded. Palm trees and green foliage surround the courtyard, and to the right another person in orange holds a tray. A dwajarohanam flag-hoisting ceremony is indicated by the setting and the flagstaff.

An outdoor ritual scene under a bright sky with palm trees. A man with long dark hair stands atop an ornate copper-coloured ceremonial pillar, raising one arm while holding a long thin cord or rope. He wears a rust-orange and gold dhoti-style garment, a red-and-white flower garland, and a beaded necklace. The pillar is wrapped with white and orange flower garlands and topped with green leaves, and carved with a small seated figure. To the right, a large orange ceremonial umbrella is held overhead, and robed attendants in saffron and orange clothing stand nearby, some wearing rudraksha malas. A tin-roofed shelter is at the left edge.

A man with long dark hair and a dark beard, wearing a rust-orange dhoti and a matching shawl, stands on a raised platform holding a small silver bell and a ritual vessel, apparently speaking or chanting. Behind him are palm trees and a metal ringed structure. A crowd of devotees, many in white, stands watching on the left. A rail with a person in dark clothing is visible at lower right. Dhoti and shawl in rust-orange; garlands in red, white and yellow marigold.

A figure in saffron-orange robes, with a tall swept-up dark topknot and a shawl draped over the shoulders, stands beside a copper-clad flagstaff (dhwajastambha) during dwajarohanam. He holds the rope with one raised hand and bows his head toward the other hand. The flagstaff is decorated with white and red flower garlands, a bundle of green grass and leaves at its top, and a small ornate copper shrine-like base. Coconut palms and green foliage fill the background under bright sky. The flag-hoisting ritual marks the start of a Brahmotsavam.

In the foreground, a figure with long dark hair wrapped in saffron-orange cloth stands barefoot with one arm raised, touching a tall reddish-brown carved stone pillar draped with a yellow flower garland and a yellow cloth wrap. To the right, a bald priest in white dhoti and shawl with gold borders holds a brass plate of offerings, flowers and oil lamps near the pillar base. Behind him, a second bald figure in orange robes sits partly visible. In the lower right, a dark stone Nandi bull with a purple and white flower garland is visible. A man in a red-and-gold dhoti with a marigold garland pulls a rope to hoist the flag, and two men in saffron-coloured cloth hold the lines below. To the left, about a dozen people in white clothes stand in a row with hands folded, including young girls. Palm trees and leafy trees frame the scene under an overcast sky.

Tall coconut palms and cloudy sky frame the scene. Several onlookers in red and orange cloth sit or stand along the edge of the platform, with a stone-carved base at the foot of the pole. A watermarked credit line reads Nithyananda Paramashivam, and a source line is printed at the lower right.
