Night outdoor scene at a ritual site with a small canopied shrine or ratha-like structure draped in red and gold at left, a trident on a pole, and a red-painted platform holding a brass vessel and offerings. Many men stand in rows barefoot on round brass plates, hands joined in namaste, dressed in white shirts and white dhotis with red borders. Several wear circular colored badges and beaded malas. A woman in a white sari with an orange border stands at far left near the platform. Orange-robed figures appear at the edges and back.

A nighttime outdoor gathering of men in white dhotis and white shirts or kurtas, standing behind wooden barrier poles in dim light. A tall man in the centre wears a white kurta and dhoti with gold border, with a rudraksha-style mala and vibhuti on his forehead, arms folded. Beside him a man in a brown vest and white shawl stands near a metal stand. Behind them an ornate silver deity murti or palanquin is decorated with yellow flower garlands under a canopy. A man on the far left wears an orange shawl. Dark background and white-clad devotees suggest a procession or ritual waiting area. Festival-style bunting hangs overhead.

A night-time photograph of a line of devotees standing barefoot on round metal plates set on a dirt path, each with hands pressed together in anjali mudra. Most wear white clothes; the woman at right in a white sari with gold border and a white top, and the woman at left in an orange-and-white sari, face forward with eyes closed. Behind them, a few people in white and saffron-orange robes stand in the dim background beneath a fluorescent tube light.

Night outdoor ritual at a temple courtyard with palm-leaf and banana-leaf decorations and string lights overhead. A row of men in white dhotis and white shirts with orange-and-red shawls stand on green banana leaves, hands pressed together in anjali, facing forward. Some hold white cloth bundles at their chests. Behind them a larger crowd of devotees in white and some in saffron stands in the courtyard, with a canopy and decorated structures at the back. Consistent with a Karthigai Deepam evening gathering, though no a person is clearly visible.

Outdoor evening photo of a group of about ten people standing in a row under a shelter with a blue cloth backdrop and string lights. They stand with palms pressed together in namaste. The men on the left wear white shirts and white dhotis, and several wear rudraksha malas. Women in white saris stand to the right. In front is a white-covered table holding a garland, flowers, fruit, a kalasha-like vessel and brass lamps. The sandy ground is plain and the scene is informal.

A photograph of a line of devotees standing barefoot in an open dirt courtyard performing a padapuja, each with palms pressed together in namaskar. Most wear white dhotis or kurtas and white shirts, with white jasmine garlands strung with red, pink and orange flowers around their necks. Each stands before a brass plate holding milk, flowers and turmeric or kumkum. Behind them are a few statues and a tiled building with red doors. A photographer with a video camera stands at the left edge. One man in an orange shawl is among the devotees, and a sannyasi-style figure is not clearly identifiable.
