A young man in orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with rudraksha malas and a tilak, holds a lit oil lamp in a brass dish while facing a tree wrapped with yellow thread. Beside him, a bare-chested man in orange cloth with rudraksha beads and a red-and-orange arm band stands with his back partly turned. Behind them, two other men in orange wraps and a shirtless man in a white dhoti stand near a brass vessel and a bell-shaped object. A bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with a red-and-gold cloth draped over his shoulder holds a lit camphor aarti plate, flame rising, with rudraksha beads on his chest. Three saffron-robed sannyasis stand beside him with hands folded in namaste, one with a long beard and one with a shaved head. Two white-clad devotees with folded hands stand at right. Beside them, a large framed portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" is garlanded with white and red flowers, and a bed of orange and red flowers lies at its base. The portrait is a depiction of a person, not a physical presence in the scene. Five physical people are visible.2007-08-09Night-time outdoor ritual at dusk among palm trees.
