June 24 20102010-06-24 +1 copiesA photograph of a priest in a white dhoti and white shirt with an orange shawl draped over one shoulder, reaching out to touch the forehead of a large golden metal statue of a deity seated beside a second golden statue. The left figure has a tall crown and bare upper body with ornate bracelets; the right figure is a goddess with a tall crown, elaborate necklaces and bangles, holding a small vessel. Red cloth hangings and carved wooden architecture frame the scene. The statues are not physical people and the priest is the only person visible, performing a puja-style blessing at a temple shrine.2006-10-20February 23 20092009-02-23 +1 copies2010 - Photo AlbumA two-panel photograph of an abhishekam at a temple shrine. Golden ornaments and a gold pedestal sit in front. Below, a seated figure in white robes with an orange shawl and orange turban sits near the lower edge of the frame, partly visible. Brass lamps and a small gold canopy frame the scene.2010-11-21October 20 20062006-10-202010 - Photo Album +1 copiesA temple shrine scene where a long-haired man in orange-saffron robes and a flower garland stands before an ornate golden deity murti seated on a throne with a red canopy and purple drapery. The murti wears a golden crown and is garlanded with marigolds and flower strands. In front of the deity, a tall brass oil lamp with a flame burns on a stand, and a brass kalasha-like vessel is decorated with garlands. To the left, another saffron-clad devotee with folded hands stands near brass lamps, and a figure in white is partly visible at the edge. Carved stone pillars and greenery frame the shrine.October 20 20062006-10-20A man in a white kurta and white dhoti with an orange-saffron shawl stands at the left and reaches toward a golden deity murti of a seated figure with a crown and a standing female figure with an ornate headdress, set within a gilded shrine with carved pillars and a red curtain backdrop. A young boy in white kneels at the far left with palms pressed together in namaskar. A large metal vessel sits in the lower left foreground, and a small plant and white vehicle are visible outside the shrine. The scene appears to be a deity worship or puja at a temple shrine. The man's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm a specific identity from visible cues alone, so the a person field is unsure.2006-10-20
