Indoor photo of a group of men performing an aarti with a lit oil lamp in a small plain room with a doorway and a window behind them. In the left foreground a young man with long dark hair wears a white shirt over an orange-saffron garment and holds a brass bell in his right hand, his other hand extended toward a flame. Beside him an older man with white hair and glasses, wearing a white shirt and a rudraksha-style mala, holds his palms together. In the centre a man in a white shirt stands with hands folded, and on the right a man in a white shirt with a gold chain holds his palms joined beside a brass oil lamp with a bright flame. Several others in white clothing stand behind them. A small KAILASA logo appears in the top left corner.A photograph in a home shrine room. A man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing a white garment with an orange shawl and a rudraksha mala, sits cross-legged on the floor and holds out a brass plate of flowers and fruit. A second man in a white shirt bends forward with his head lowered to receive it. Before them stands a framed portrait on an ornate chair-like seat, with a red cushion, flowers and fruit arranged on the floor, a small oil lamp burning at the left edge, and a shelf of deity figurines in the background. The seated man matches the probable Swamiji cues of swept-back hair, orange shawl and rudraksha mala, and is presenting the offering in a puja-type ritual, so this is marked probable. Two physical people are visible.2007-10-01September 01 20102010-09-01 +1 copiesAnnadhan in 20092009-01-012004-SPH-JGM-Vijaya-Yatra-To-Malaysia-And-Singapore +2 copiesA night-time photograph of a group of men in white ritual dhotis and shawls gathered under a corrugated roof, holding their hands together in prayer or reaching toward a lit oil lamp. A man in an orange-saffron garment with a tall ornate crown, a gold-beaded necklace and rudraksha-style beads holds the brass lamp with a bright flame, passing it among devotees; smoke rises above the flame. Several men wear white dhotis with sandalwood or vibhuti marks on their foreheads and rudraksha malas. The setting suggests a lamp-lighting ritual, possibly a Kartheekai Deepam aarti.2010-11-21February 22 20062006-02-22A photograph inside a plain grey-walled hall where a shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes with yellow trim stands barefoot, holding a lit oil lamp aloft toward a table draped in white with a brass dish. Behind him, three framed portraits adorned with marigold garlands sit on the table. Several men in white dhotis and shirts stand with palms pressed together in namaskar, and a woman in a light blue sari with a white forehead marking also joins with folded hands on the right. Hanging decorative lamps with patterned shades are visible at the top of the room.2011-09-12 +1 copies2004-SPH-JGM-Vijaya-Yatra-To-Malaysia-And-Singapore +2 copiesIndoor office-like room with white walls and a wooden desk holding a tray with flowers, a small brass lamp and offerings. A bearded man in saffron-orange robe and dhoti holds a lit oil lamp in aarti before a framed portrait of a man in pink robes and mala on the wall, with a bowl of flowers beside it. Two men in white dhotis with orange shawls stand with hands joined in prayer, and a young boy in white with an orange shawl stands at right. Framed certificates and a colourful notice board hang on the wall. The scene suggests a small aarti or puja in a temple office.2008-10-09A photograph of a staircase procession inside a building, with a man in white kurta carrying a silver tray holding a coconut, green leaves and offerings at the front. Behind him a man in orange robes and a garland of white flowers carries a large framed portrait of a bearded-free figure with long dark hair, wearing a crown-like headpiece, rudraksha-style beads and an orange garment; the framed portrait is garlanded with flowers and red blossoms. Other men in white and a woman in a cream sari follow along the stairs, with a hand visibly folded in greeting at the lower left.
