March 01 20222022-03-01March 01 20222022-03-01Photograph of a decorated indoor hall set up for worship. Centre is a large golden throne with a red cushioned back, on which a life-size seated figure in a red-and-gold robe wears a saffron-coloured turban, a flower garland and rudraksha-style beads; the figure is a statue, not a living person, so it is a murti or depiction. In front stands a small Shivalinga-style image with a white flower garland on a golden base. Before it are a white cloth covered with bananas, coconuts, green vegetables and a lit oil lamp, and rows of brass bowls lined with white paper holding sweets, snacks and grains as offerings. Flanking the throne are tall brass oil lamps with trident finials and two red-and-gold umbrella canopies. A small framed portrait sits near the left garland, and a backdrop with a temple scene and pink-and-green string lights completes the setting.2022-03-01April 27 20212021-04-27March 01 20222022-03-01March 01 20222022-03-01March 01 20222022-03-01December 28 20212021-12-28A seated deity murti dressed in a green and gold sari with a jeweled gold crown and heavy gold necklaces, garlanded with yellow and red marigold strands. In front stands a table draped with gold-bordered red silk, holding brass bowls of offerings, a brass kalasha, lamps and a plate of fruit. A small vase of white and orange flowers sits on a striped rug, flanked by decorated pillars with fringed embroidered panels. No people are visible; this is a ritual puja display.2008-10-02March 01 20222022-03-01December 28 20212021-12-28November 04 20212021-11-04
