A photograph of a large spreading banyan tree with thick aerial roots and a wide canopy of green leaves, growing over a reddish-brown earthen ground. Mounds of loose red soil and scattered dry leaves lie in the foreground, and curved low stone or concrete borders trace a path near the trunks at right. No people or a person candidates are visible; the scene shows only the tree and the excavated, landscaped ground beneath it.2014-08-12August 12 20142014-08-12A large, ancient banyan tree dominates the scene, with a thick central trunk, many aerial prop roots hanging and descending from wide-spreading branches, and dense green foliage. Numerous aerial prop roots hang down from the branches, some reaching the ground and forming additional trunks. Circular white-painted platforms with low walls surround the trunk bases, and a few small wooden and stone structures sit beneath the canopy. A rough stone outcrop lies in the foreground, and a red-and-white painted structure appears at the left edge. No people are visible.2012-10-24A large, ancient banyan tree dominates the frame, its wide spreading limbs and many aerial prop roots forming a dense green canopy over reddish-brown earth. Thick hanging roots descend from the branches around the trunks. At the base, beneath the lower branches, a small shrine area is visible with red and white draped fabric and a few small objects, though figures there are too distant to clearly distinguish. Overcast light filters through the leaves. No clearly visible people are present in the foreground.2015-08-23
