February 13 20132013-02-13Outdoor ghat scene at a riverbank with a seated figure in saffron-orange robes, long dark swept-back hair, rudraksha malas and layered pearl and bead necklaces, with ornate silver-and-gold chair or throne behind. An elderly man in white dhoti with bare upper body kneels and bows at the seated figure's feet, hands pressed together, while standing saffron-robed attendants holding ceremonial silver staffs and a silver-tipped fan surround the seat. A grey-haired man in white and a turbaned elderly man in a waistcoat watch nearby. Water and wet ground suggest a riverside ritual of padapuja-style reverence.2013-02-13Outdoor photograph of a long-haired man in saffron-orange robes seated on an ornate silver-framed chair draped with a striped black-and-gold cloth, smiling with open palms extended. He wears layered strands of pearl and bead malas, bronze armbands and beaded bracelets. Around him stand several men in saffron robes with gold borders, one holding a silver staff, and women in orange and red saris with silver staffs. In the lower left a man in white is bent forward at the feet of the seated figure, and scattered pink flower petals lie on the ground. A silver shoe-shaped object rests on the cloth beside the chair.2013-02-13Outdoor photo of a festival gathering at a temple-type setting with green foliage behind. In the foreground, a man in orange saffron robes sits cross-legged on stone, wearing a gold-bead necklace, a rudraksha-style bead mala, bangles and a flower-bud headband with a white and red forehead marking; he smiles toward the side. Beside him an older man with white facial markings and an orange-yellow shawl sits with hands resting on his knee, wearing wooden bead malas and an orange wrap. Behind them a younger man in white dhoti and shawl wears gold chains; women in white and green saris and standing onlookers watch. At upper right a man in white holds a round red-and-gold decorated object aloft. Around 20 visible people in total.2012-06-05Outdoor photograph on a red stone stepped platform with a crowd seated behind. A seated man in orange-saffron dhoti and shawl wears a red and yellow flower garland, gold chain, rudraksha-style red beads and an armlet, with long swept-back hair; he is the probable Swamiji, identified by appearance cues of long hair, ornate gold jewellery and saffron clothing. A younger monastic in saffron wraps and a bare upper body, with a cord of beads and marks on his arm, bends forward offering a yellow cloth bundle. A woman in white kneels before the seated figure with her head bowed. Behind them, white-clad devotees and onlookers sit on the steps, some with hands joined, and a colourful ceremonial canopy is visible at upper left.2013-07-08A photograph of a smiling man seated on an ornate gold-and-red throne, wearing a rust-orange turban, orange robe with a gold-bordered yellow shawl, multiple rudraksha malas and heavy gold necklaces, and gold bangles. He extends his right hand toward a woman in a red top who bends forward with long dark hair, while another person in red beside her approaches. Behind them stand a line of people in white, some with hands folded in namaskar, and saffron-robed attendants on red-brick steps. A silver ceremonial staff rises at right. Swamiji (probable): the man wears a turban, rudraksha malas, gold necklaces and saffron-orange robes, and is seated on a throne receiving devotees, matching the page's Guru Purnima context.2013-07-22A photograph of a seated man with long dark swept-back hair, wearing a saffron-orange robe, a red and white flower garland, and rudraksha malas, seated on a red throne with gold lion-head armrests under a white and red tent. A woman in white with a red-bordered sari kneels before him, touching his hand, while a bare-chested man in orange with a yellow and white bead necklace stands behind. Several women in orange and saffron garments with beaded necklaces, some holding offerings, gather around, and more devotees in white stand in the background. The seated figure appears to be a probable Swamiji candidate based on his long swept-back hair, ornate saffron clothing, rudraksha malas and garland. The scene resembles a devotional puja or padapuja at a festival setting.2016-01-03Outdoor ritual setting under a open-sided structure with flower garlands hanging on posts. A central man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange-saffron dhoti with a gold border, a long rudraksha mala and a gold-bordered orange shawl, and stands barefoot looking downward. Beside him, a shaved-headed priest in orange robes with a white forehead marking holds an offering, and a woman in orange sari stands near a green tray of marigold and rose petals. Behind them, men and women in white and orange clothing, some with red shawls, stand and kneel among onlookers, a seated man in white with orange lanyard sits at lower centre, and a white-clad attendant stands at the far left. Several people watch the ceremony closely.2013-07-14Outdoor Guru Purnima scene at an ashram. A smiling figure in a rust-orange turban and orange-brown robe sits on an ornate gold-and-red throne, wearing layered gold necklaces, rudraksha beads and gold bangles, holding a long silver staff. A bald child in saffron-orange robes bows forward with an orange cloth held toward the throne, and an adult hand reaches in to receive it. Behind them, a crowd in white and orange clothing stands watching, with banana plants and string decorations above. The figure's distinctive turban, ornaments and throne fit the page's a person reference, so this is an appearance-based probable identification, with the seated person described by role as a guru on a throne.2013-07-22A seated figure in a red-orange turban and saffron-red robe sits on a patterned rug under a yellow and red canopy, smiling, wearing a dense rudraksha mala, a heavy gold ceremonial necklace with a large pendant and gold armbands. Around them stand attendants in white dhotis with gold borders and saffron-red shawls, several wearing garlands and rudraksha malas; one holds a silver trident-topped staff and another holds a tall red-and-gold staff. A man in pink shirt and a bald attendant in saffron stand nearby, one holding a phone. The scene suggests a ceremonial procession or honouring at a tented gathering.2016-04-18 +1 copiesJanuary 13 20152015-01-13January 13 20152015-01-13
