A man in an orange-saffron dhoti and wrap bends forward, pouring liquid from a silver vessel over a white stone shivalingam on a square base. A golden gilded standing deity murti stands to the right, and a large golden statue's feet appear in the background. He wears a long gold bead mala with a small pendant. The setting is a temple with dark stone pillars and a water-filled basin.2011-12-28A shaven-headed man in saffron-orange robes with a gold-bead mala and a red-and-yellow shawl waves a brass lamp (aarti) in front of a white-coated deity murti that has a crown and green-streaked drapery, while a bell is held by his other hand. He wears a long gold bead necklace with a small framed portrait pendant and a gold bracelet, with a red tilak on his forehead. Behind him, gilded copper figures and a black stone yoni-style base are visible. A small white marble stepped shrine and a seated white marble figure stand nearby. The scene shows abhishekam in a temple. The man's face is not clearly identifiable from this angle, and no compatible presentation cues suffice to establish his identity, so he is described by role only.2011-12-28A photograph of a Mahalakshmi puja at a golden shrine. A shaven-headed priest in saffron robes and an orange head cloth kneels at left, pouring water from a brass vessel over a white crystal-like shivalinga-style object on a wooden stand, a ritual abhishekam. Behind it, a large golden deity murti wears a red and white flower garland and an ornate gold crown. A woman in an orange sari sits at right beside a small bronze figure, and another woman in white stands at left edge. Green fruits sit at lower right and red flowers rest on the stand.2009-11-09A photograph inside a temple shrine during an abhishekam. A man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and a gold necklace pours milk from a gold vessel over a white conical shivalinga mound on a wooden platform. Beside him, another priest in orange robes with a red head covering and gold chain sits and attends to offerings on a brass tray. Marigold and rose garlands hang in the background, with brass lamps and flowers on the altar.2009-10-17July 21 20102010-07-21June 13 20132013-06-13A seated priest in saffron-orange robes with white vibhuti marks on his forehead and arms and a red kumkum dot pours a creamy, yellowish offering from a silver bowl over a deity murti draped in a red cloth. The murti is set on a gold-trimmed platform, consistent with an abhishekam. A standing person in white clothing is partly visible at the right edge.2010-07-21A photo of an abhishekam at a temple. A central figure in an orange saffron dhoti and draped orange cloth, with white vibhuti marks on the forehead and arm, and a heavy gold necklace, pours milk from a silver vessel over a dark stone shivalingam-style Shiva linga on a lotus-carved base. Milk streams down the black stone. Behind him, a bearded man in orange robes and gold beads stands watching, and a younger person in orange holds a brass pot. At left, a white marble statue of a seated figure with raised hand stands beside the stone. A yellow-and-white garment is partly visible at the edge. Swamiji (probable) is the central figure pouring the abhishekam, identified by his swept-back hair, ornate gold necklace and saffron draped cloth.2009-12-16A priest in an orange-red dhoti and shawl with gold-coloured borders, wearing a gold bead necklace, pours water from a brass kalasha over a small gilded deity murti standing on a pedestal. Behind him a second priest in white dhoti and shawl with a red border stands near white marble carvings and a dark stone yoni-peetha base. The setting is an outdoor temple courtyard with a tin roof, gilded figures and a chain of bulbs overhead. This appears to be an abhishekam being performed on the murti.2011-03-03October 07 20112011-10-07A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a gold bead necklace pours liquid from a brass pot over a red-clad deity murti with a silver crown and metal arms, placed on an ornate gold-covered pedestal. A second man, bare-chested in a saffron dhoti with a green-and-maroon border and holding an empty palm, stands behind him beside an ornate stone shrine with a carved Ganesha relief and a brass lamp. The scene shows an abhishekam ritual at a temple setting with green foliage and a red railing in the background.2010-07-21
