November 09 20072007-11-09Photograph of a dimly lit temple interior during a puja, with several richly decorated deity murtis under garlands of flowers. A central shrine holds a large deity figure with a red and gold garland, flanked by two smaller murtis; gilded arched shrines frame murtis on the left and right, and tall decorated pillars with painted patterns rise behind. Fruit and offerings are arranged before the shrine. Seated devotees fill the foreground in silhouette, some in white and orange clothing, and a brass vessel sits at lower left.2007-11-09Dim photograph of a temple sanctum where a priest in dark robes stands at left, raising a white cloth or cotton over the shrine. Central deity murti is adorned with yellow and orange garlands and a yellow arch, flanked by tall decorated pillars. Side shrines hold additional garlanded deity figures in gold arches. Offerings of fruit and flowers sit on tiered trays in front. Seated devotees in dark and orange clothing, many with heads covered, fill the lower foreground, mostly seen from behind. A small brass lamp appears at left. The setting suggests a puja or aarti at a Hindu temple.2007-11-09November 09 20072007-11-09February 02 20162016-02-02October 18 20152015-10-18February 02 20162016-02-02November 09 20072007-11-09Indoor temple consecration scene with a crowd of devotees seated on the floor facing a raised shrine. Several priests in saffron and orange robes perform worship, one standing at the centre with a folded cloth draped over the shoulder. Large golden deity murtis and decorated figures stand with flower garlands, while banana-leaf and fruit offerings are stacked in tiers at the right, with a pineapple on top. A brass kalasha stands on the left and dark ceremonial vessels sit before the shrine. Women wear saris in red, orange, green and yellow, and several elderly devotees have white hair. Tall colourful decorated poles frame the back of the hall.2007-11-09Night temple ritual scene in front of a gilded arch decorated with multicolour flower garlands and two deity murti in crowns and jewelled necklaces. A bare-chested priest with a shaved head... wait.2014-09-14A photograph of a seated congregation on a red carpet facing an ornate golden temple shrine decorated with multicoloured tassel garlands and crystal chandeliers. Devotees in white, pastel and colourful saris sit in rows while a figure in orange robes sits centrally before the shrine, surrounded by standing priests in white and offering vessels. Gold-painted deity murtis and carved arches frame the shrine. The central deity murti appears to be a decorated image with a crown, but its exact identity is not clear. A person in orange robes at the centre is seated and performing a ritual; whether this is a specific candidate is uncertain from appearance alone, so the role is given as a seated figure in orange clothing, with no identity claimed.2016-04-24December 07 20162016-12-07
