A photograph of a large outdoor satsang on a red carpeted floor under a tent with yellow decorative swags. In the foreground, a figure seen from behind with long dreadlocks, wearing a rudraksha mala and an ornate gold necklace, sits before an ornately carved white wooden throne with elephant motifs. Around him, rows of women and girls in orange and red saris with flowers in their hair sit with hands raised to their foreheads, while older men and women in white and coloured clothes seated on white chairs behind them also raise hands to their faces. A camera on a tripod stands at centre. The people appear to be in a meditative or chanting posture.2017-12-15A large seated congregation in a satsang hall with red floor covering, many people in orange, saffron and red garments with flower garlands in their hair, pressing their hands over their eyes. In the foreground a figure seen from behind with long dark dreadlocks and a rudraksha-style necklace sits on a carved white wooden throne with elephant motifs and a leopard-print cushion, one arm raised holding a small object. Older devotees in white and pastel clothing, some with cameras and phones, fill the background. A carved throne suggests a discourse setting; the scene reads as a devotional sitting during a teaching, not a specific named ceremony.2017-12-15December 15 20172017-12-15A dense courtyard gathering of saffron-robed brahmacharis and devotees seated on the floor inside a temple hall with red walls and pillars wrapped in colourful patterned cloth.
