A brass ladle sits on the rim of the fire and a small brass lamp with a flame stands on the left edge; white ash marks dot the wooden steps. Behind is a red-and-white painted wall and green foliage. A partially visible person in a white dhoti sits at the left edge with bangled wrist, performing the fire ritual.2014-10-03February 20 20162016-02-20 +2 copiesA homa fire burns in a square pit of yellow bricks, decorated with rice grains, turmeric-coloured spots and red flower petals on the brick edges. Flames rise from wood sticks inside the pit, with a metal vessel above. Behind it, two seated figures in orange and rust-red robes sit on a striped mat beside brass plates and offerings, with a partial view of a third robed figure at the right edge wearing beaded necklaces. The scene suggests a fire ritual performed by sannyasis. No a person identity is clearly visible.2018-05-24 +2 copiesFebruary 07 20162016-02-07July 01 20092009-07-01A photograph of a homa fire pit, a square brick-lined trench with white-painted rims decorated with yellow marigold petals.
