Outdoor photograph at a stone temple gateway in Tiruvannamalai, with a carved white gopuram tier and dark granite walls behind a crowd. In the centre, a man with long, swept-back dark hair stands with palms pressed together in namaste, wearing an orange shawl over an orange garment, a yellow sash, and a heavy gold necklace with a pendant. He has a red tilak on his forehead. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts wear black rudraksha malas; one holds a bundle of pink flower garlands. A man in a cream shirt has a grey moustache and red tilak, and a man at right in white holds a flower garland. Several people stand close together in a dense crowd.

Behind and beside him are shaved-headed men in orange garments with gold necklaces, a man in white kurta and white dhoti, and a woman in an orange sari with red border. On the right a bald man in orange holds a brass or gold kalasha-style vessel. Tarpaulin awnings and a red-and-white banner line the lane.

A crowd of devotees in white dhotis and shirts walks in procession out of a tall, intricately carved gopuram gateway of a stone temple. At the centre, a long-haired figure in an orange-saffron shawl over a gold-bordered yellow garment, wearing a heavy gold necklace and a rudraksha mala, stands with palms pressed together in greeting; the figure is shown with long, swept-back hair and ornate ceremonial gold adornment, consistent with Swamiji (probable). Around him, men in white and orange shawls carry a small orange cloth bundle and walk alongside, one in a dark-rimmed rudraksha mala. A few onlookers in the background watch from the temple entrance.
