A crowded temple courtyard at dusk with many seated and standing devotees. In the centre, a woman in a crimson sari with long dark hair and a red-and-saffron cloth draped over her shoulder sits among several men in saffron and orange robes wearing orange and rudraksha malas; one shaven-headed man in white robes sits beside her. A younger man in white shirt and white dhoti bends forward to make an offering or receive a blessing near them. Behind them stands a tall rainbow-coloured banner on a pole, and carved stone pillars and lit lamps frame the hall. Spectators in white, saffron, purple and yellow saris and dhotis fill the foreground and background.2012-04-05April 05 20122012-04-05A photograph of a dim, narrow temple passage with old weathered walls and a metal grille gate. A man with curly dark hair, orange tilak on the forehead, a rudraksha mala and a gold ceremonial pendant with flower garland, dressed in a maroon-brown wrap, stands with palms pressed together in namaste. Around him, devotees in white and orange clothes, some with white shawls and orange tilak, bow or stand close. A man in a white kurta in the left foreground bows his head, and a bald priest in orange-brown robes bends forward in the lower right.2016-06-03June 19 20142014-06-19April 05 20122012-04-05May 07 20122012-05-07June 03 20162016-06-03A procession moves through the pillared hall of a stone temple. In the centre a man in red-orange robes wears a white headband, a rudraksha mala, and a gold necklace, walking with bare feet. Behind him, several young men in saffron-orange robes carry a tall silver staff garlanded with pink and white flowers. Around them, devotees in white dhotis and a yellow-clad man stand watching, with a woman in a dark sari and an elderly woman in white nearby. Carved stone pillars and a yellow gate frame the scene.2009-07-13Photograph inside a dim temple hall with stone pillars, where a bare-chested priest in a yellow dhoti and pink shoulder cloth stands at a low railing, holding a white cloth bundle while a worshipper bends forward. In the foreground, several people sit on a mat in orange and red robes, including a long-haired figure in a red robe with a white flower garland who sits with hands folded. Nearby, men in orange and saffron shawls and white vibhuti tilaks stand behind the railing, and a silver-toned ritual staff with a trident and flower garland stands upright beside the railing. A yellow sign with red lettering appears at left. The scene looks like a temple ritual or darshan.2009-07-13A photograph inside a stone temple interior with pink sandstone pillars and a marble floor. A crowd of devotees stands with palms pressed together in namaste near a stone shrine at lower left, where a red cloth and orange offering lie. A man at right wears a deep maroon-red shawl, a white garland of flowers, a gold necklace and gold armbands, with his hands joined at his chest. Beside him a woman wears a red sari and a young boy wears an orange robe. Left of centre, a woman in a red kurta and white trousers presses her hands together, and an elderly bearded man in white dhoti and white shirt stands with hands folded. Several people wear orange and saffron clothes and rudraksha malas. Two men in white dhoti with bare chests and sacred threads stand near the centre, and a man at far right raises a phone. Context suggests a temple visit with devotional greetings.2016-06-03Photograph inside a hall with a pink wall, white canopy and hanging decorations with orange and multicolour tassels. In the centre, a man in an orange dhoti with a rudraksha mala has his hands raised to a boy's face, who is wearing a red garment. Around them, devotees and monks in white and orange robes, several with beaded necklaces, stand close. A man in a white shirt with an orange shawl stands at left, a woman in white with a mala at far left, and a shaved-headed monk in orange in the foreground right. A decorated stage with a colourful backdrop and a gold throne is visible in the background. Roughly a dozen or more people are visible, with some partially cropped.2010-10-27A seated man in an orange robe with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala sits on a white-covered throne-style seat in a temple courtyard, smiling as a kneeling man in white dhoti and shirt holds his hand. Nearby, a man in white lies prostrate with flowers before the seat, and a child kneels at the side. Standing devotees in white dhotis, orange and yellow shawls watch. Behind them are brass lamps, a gilded shrine with red-and-white garlands, and a deity murti. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure's long hair, orange robe and rudraksha mala are the cues, and he is seated in the place of honour receiving devotees' reverence.2010-06-13
