A photograph of a courtyard at an ashram with a red-tiled covered walkway and open windows. Many robed monastics in saffron and orange gather on paved tiles beside a small tree and potted palm fronds. Several are bald or have long hair with rudraksha malas, one with a yellow-orange turban, and some wear white or brown robes. A bearded man in green and white stands near the center, and a few women in saffron and white saris stand along the veranda. Several men in white dhotis and a man in a red shirt are also present, and people watch from the windows. No figure can be confidently identified as a person from appearance cues alone, so roles are described instead.

Outdoor tented gathering at the Ujjain Kumbh Mela where orange-robed sadhus sit on a raised platform under a yellow canopy and white tent. A saffron-robed monk with a white turban and rudraksha-style beads holds a microphone in the right foreground, speaking while others sit cross-legged with marigold garlands. Many seated devotees in saffron, orange, red and colourful saris face the platform, and a small yellow ornate umbrella stands over the seated group.

A photograph of a seated devotional gathering in a hall with a concrete floor and a metal railing. Women in white and cream traditional dress with gold borders and orange or yellow shawls sit cross-legged on woven mats, hands pressed together in anjali mudra with eyes closed in prayer. Several wear gold bangles and bracelets, and one holds a steel water bottle beside her. Many more devotees sit in rows behind them. No figure in the scene is clearly identifiable as a person, and the foreground is filled with devotees rather than a presiding figure.
