A photograph of two large unfinished clay sculptures lying on a sandy patch of ground, bounded by a low brick edging and a wooden plank. The rounded clay forms appear to be in progress, with the surface still smooth and mud-coloured. Scattered loose red bricks, wooden boards and a bamboo pole lie around them. Behind is a stone balustrade, green shrubs and a blue pipe. No people are visible.

Outdoors on bare red earth, two large clay sculptural forms rest on wooden planks supported by concrete blocks. Each form is a rough, unfinished clay model of a body part, with textured surface and cracks. Behind them stand two large grey-brown cylindrical clay or concrete pots, green shrubs grow at the back, and a blue tarpaulin and cloth lie on the ground at left. No people are visible. The image is a photograph taken at a sculpture-making site.

A photograph of a large unfinished clay or mud sculpture lying on a wooden and brick base in an outdoor sandy yard. The form is a reclining figure with smooth rounded contours and tool marks visible on its surface, possibly a deity murti under construction. Red bricks surround the base, with a brick-edged garden bed, green plants, a red bucket and a wooden plank in the background. No people are visible in the frame.

Outdoor photo of two large clay sculptures of feet resting on concrete blocks and a blue-painted wooden board on bare red-brown earth. Dry grass and weeds grow around, with grey stones, a white woven sack and a grey plastic bucket at the edges. The clay is still unfired and rough, showing fingermarks and textured surface detail. No people are visible.

Close-up photograph of a person's hands shaping a lump of wet grey clay on a pale floor. The hands hold and mould a mound of mud into a rounded form with a smaller raised knob, glistening with water. The person wears a teal blue silky garment with a gold-thread border. Only the hands and lap are visible, so no face or full body appears.

A photograph of an outdoor construction area with raw clay moulds. Several large mud-coated clay forms, shaped like hollow domes or cups with openings, sit on a low concrete plinth and wooden boards. Behind them is a rectangular concrete foundation with a shallow water-filled channel. Scattered cloth, a plastic sheet and a small patch of purple flowers lie on the ground, with red earth and sparse weeds around. No people are visible in the scene.

Close photograph of a person's hands shaping a large mass of reddish-brown clay. The fingers press and smooth the wet clay, which has a rough, layered texture. Behind it, two pale wooden poles stand upright against a plain light grey wall. Only the forearms and hands of one person are visible, with no face shown.

A close photograph of a sculptor's hands shaping a large mass of reddish-brown clay on a wooden workbench against a white wall. Two arms are visible at left, one hand pressing and smoothing the clay with a fingertip, while the clay body rises in rough, layered ridges toward the right. Pale wooden supports stand behind the clay, and a green-painted table leg is visible at the lower left. No people's faces are visible; the scene shows a murthy being modelled in clay.

A close photo of a shallow, mould-like clay form half-buried in reddish-brown soil, its inner surface smooth and sculpted, its outer rim coated in white plaster or lime. A bare forearm in a white sleeve reaches in from the right, fingers resting near the edge, with a ring on one finger. A cardboard edge is visible at the upper left. No people in ritual activity or identifiable figures are shown.

A photograph of a plaster or clay mould lying on a dirt floor, a pale grey-white cast with a sculpted surface of a figure's form. Scattered wood shavings and chips surround it, a stone block sits at the left edge, a wooden-handled hammer or tool is at the right edge, and a blue cord runs beneath it. No people are visible. The image is a photo of a sculpture-making workspace.

Close overhead photograph of a freshly formed mud lingam, a smooth cylindrical shape with a rounded top rising from a broad mound of wet brown clay on a grey concrete floor. Scattered clay crumbs and small orange and pink paint specks dot the surface around it, and a bit of a metal tool edge is visible at the lower left. No people are visible in the frame.
