A photograph of a temple-style shrine interior with red walls. On the right, a large deity murti or statue is draped in garlands of yellow, red, purple and white flowers, wearing an ornate embellished red and gold garment and a tall crown with an orange cloth. Standing brass lamps flank it. On the left, a man in white holds a brass lamp with a large flame as an aarti is offered, while a second person in orange robes stands behind, near a dark wooden cabinet and stone steps. A framed picture hangs on the back wall. A small red-cushioned gilded stool sits in front of the lamp bearer. The scene suggests a puja with lamp offering.

A dim temple interior during a Karthigai Deepam ritual. Left, a decorated deity murti is draped in orange and red cloth and garlanded with yellow, white, purple and red flowers, with tall brass oil lamps lit before it. A kneeling person in a white dhoti and bare chest arranges small clay pots of oil with lit wicks on a cloth. Standing right, a man in an orange dhoti and bare chest holds a brass bowl with a burning flame, while another person in a maroon cloth stands beside him holding a pot. Lamps glow throughout the scene; the photo is taken from a close, low angle. Three physical people are visible.

A night aarti at a temple shrine lit by many brass oil lamps. On the left, a deity murti is dressed in orange and red cloth, with a silver crown, a red and orange garland and a large yellow and white flower garland. In the centre, a shaven-headed priest in orange robes with white tripundra marks holds a large brass plate of flame near the murti, while another bare-chested priest in orange wraps and rudraksha mala beside him holds a plate with a bowl of oil. A third priest in a maroon shawl, bare-chested with a rudraksha mala, stands at right holding a bowl of yellow liquid, and a younger attendant in white stands at the far right. A woman in a white sari kneels at lower left, bent forward at the kalasha-like bowls of yellow turmeric paste arranged on a mat, with decorated brass lamps and garlands framing the scene.

Photograph of a night temple ritual inside a pillared hall. A bare-chested priest in a rust-brown dhoti with a pink and white flower garland stands at left, holding a flame over a yellow-and-white lamp stand on a stone base, while a silver lamp and a silver bowl sit nearby. To the right, a deity murti is heavily decorated with red, orange, white and purple flower garlands and draped in gold-bordered cloth. Behind the priest, a row of drummers in saffron-orange robes plays drums. A stone bull statue and tall colourful banners stand in the background. The scene is abhishekam or aarti-style worship.

Photograph inside a temple hall during a puja. Two bare-chested men in rust-red dhoti-style garments stand at a deity murti decorated with layered garlands of red roses, orange and purple flowers and white jasmine strands. The man on the right wears a rudraksha mala and gold necklace and adjusts the floral adornments with both hands. The man on the left, wearing a pink-and-white garland, gestures toward the murti. A brass oil lamp with a large flame burns on a stone pedestal, alongside a brass kalasha and small oil lamps. Behind them, drummers in orange robes play drums and devotees stand in the background beneath decorative pillars and hanging banners.

A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a man in a rust-red turban and rust-brown robe, with a rudraksha-style bead bracelet and a white and pink flower garland, holding a lit oil lamp aloft before a deity. Smoke rises from the flame. To the right stands a large deity murti heavily decorated with yellow, red and white flower garlands and gold ornaments. Another person in saffron-orange clothing with long hair is partly visible at the left edge, and a brass vessel rests on the floor. The setting is a carved stone and wood temple interior, consistent with aarti being performed. The man appears to be a priest or devotee rather than a confirmed identity, and no readable name is visible.

A photograph of a temple puja at night. A man with long dark hair, a short beard, and a rudraksha mala draped over an orange-brown robe stands at left holding a silver bell and a lit oil lamp with a visible flame. He wears a bare upper body and smiles toward the deity. Before a richly decorated deity murti he stands, its body covered in garlands of marigold, pink flowers, and green leaves, and a gold-and-red garment. At left a black Nandi bull is adorned with yellow flower garlands, and a brass pot with white liquid sits in the foreground. Pillars and a white figure appear in the background.

A man in a rust-brown dhoti and draped cloth, wearing a red and white flower garland and a gold chain, stands at a golden pillar holding a silver lamp or ritual vessel over a flame in a shrine. A second man in orange clothing stands behind him at left. Beside them, a deity murti is decorated with a gold-and-silver embroidered blue and orange cloth, floral garlands and ornaments, seated on a striped throne-like cushion. Red cloth draped over a shrine structure, brass bowls of offerings sit in the foreground, and a brass lamp stands at right. The setting appears to be a temple or puja room with red carpeting.
