A banner with a dark background and a figure is raised among the crowd, and a round decorated ornament is visible further back. A man in the foreground with a moustache looks toward the camera, and a small white-topped vehicle with orange flags is at the left edge. A white car with headlights on moves through the crowd on the left. A man in a white shirt and necklace on the lower left carries a long bamboo pole with a wooden frame lashed to it. A bare-chested man in a checked lungi walks at centre, with a child on the hip of a woman in a white sari beside him. Many women in saris of green, yellow, pink and blue, and men in white shirts and dhotis, fill the street, with lights and balloons overhead. The scene matches a kodikkan ratha yatra style procession, though no deity is visible.2006-11-05Dense night crowd on a narrow street during a procession, with many people pressed together and hands raised, some holding small brass lamps or puja plates.
