Photo 11701604At night, a shirtless priest with long dark hair and a beard stands with his back to the camera, holding a lit oil lamp flame on a metal tray toward a decorated ratha or palanquin-style shrine. He wears an orange dhoti with a pink and green striped cloth over his shoulder and a red mala around his neck. The shrine is heavily garlanded with yellow and red flower strings and topped with kalasha pots; carved lion and deity figures decorate its base. A glass-enclosed central element stands at the shrine's centre, and a bright light is visible behind the priest's left shoulder. The scene appears to be an aarti performed before the shrine.2016-02-16February 16 20162016-02-16 +1 copiesFebruary 16 20162016-02-16August 18 20172017-08-18A night-time puja at a decorated deity murti of Ganesha, dressed in an orange and green cloth and wrapped in white and yellow flower garlands. A priest with his back to the camera, in a red-orange turban and reddish-orange dhoti with a gold border, holds a flame or oil lamp toward the idol. The deity sits on a red-trimmed pedestal flanked by two yellow-orange lion figures and small seated figures with mustaches. Ornate vessels and leaves surround the altar, and a lit shrine with a red and gold decorated figure appears blurred in the background. The flame and incense smoke add a warm glow to the dark setting.2014-08-21January 03 20152015-01-03October 29 20162016-10-29A priest in orange dhoti and a wrapped dark turban stands bare-chested, holding a brass plate with a lit flame in both hands, performing aarti before an altar.
