A photograph of a ghat-side ritual at a riverbank. In the centre, a young shaved-headed priest with a horizontal tilak and a rudraksha mala, bare-chested and wearing an orange dhoti, pours water from a brass vessel over a dark stone Nandi bull statue draped with orange and yellow marigold garlands. Behind him, seated on red stone steps, a bare-chested man in white dhoti and a woman in pink and white sit among other devotees and onlookers, some with brass pots. At left, a figure in an orange garment sits with back turned. Red flags stand in the background, and the scene reads as abhishekam to Nandi.2016-12-19December 14 20162016-12-14December 19 20162016-12-19December 18 20162016-12-18December 18 20162016-12-18A bare-chested temple priest in an orange-saffron cloth stands at left, pouring milk from a brass vessel over a large grey stone Nandi bull statue, which is streaming white liquid down its body. Red and orange flags fly behind on poles, with a metal railing and seated devotees in the background. A large black stone Nandi bull statue, draped with an orange and yellow marigold garland, sits at center while water pours over it. Around it, many people sit on red steps in white and saffron clothing and pour liquid from brass vessels. A shirtless man in white dhoti and sacred thread stands beside the statue, and another man in saffron and bare-chested attire holds a brass pot. Red flags on poles and a metal fence frame the scene, with brass pots and metal vessels at left.2016-12-18A photograph of a priest pouring water from a brass vessel over a large dark stone Nandi bull statue during an abhishekam outdoors. Behind him, several white-clad people sit on the steps, and red-orange flags fly on poles against a pale sky with trees.2016-11-26 +1 copiesA large dark stone Nandi bull statue, draped with a garland of red and white flowers, receives a pouring of water from a brass pot held by a man in a dark blue dhoti at the lower left. Behind it, rows of red-tiered steps hold many brass kalasha pots and black stone pedestals. Several men sit bare-chested in white dhotis and rudraksha malas, one holding a brass pot and another a brass lamp, while women in saris and salwar sit nearby. A white flag hangs at right beside a metal railing. The scene reflects an abhishekam ritual at a temple setting.2016-12-14November 07 20162016-11-07
