A photo of a shaved-headed?-no: a man with long hair tied back in a bun and a white tilak on his forehead, wearing an orange-brown garment with gold border and a beaded necklace, places his right palm on the head of a young man in a white kurta who stands with eyes closed and hands folded near his chest. Behind them a golden deity murti or ornament is visible at left, and a woman in white with a rudraksha-style mala watches at right. The gesture suggests a blessing or darshan. The seated figure with long hair, tilak and gold-bordered orange-brown cloth is a probable match for a person by these cues, while the young man is a devotee receiving the blessing.2014-01-03December 20 20132013-12-20November 02 20132013-11-02A photo of an indoor ritual with a man in a rust-orange wrapped turban and orange-brown shawl, bare-chested with a gold-trimmed cloth and multiple beaded malas, extending his right arm to press his palm onto the forehead of a man in a white kurta with a red-beaded mala. The recipient has his hands raised in a respectful gesture. Behind them, a seated man in white with dark rudraksha-style beads watches, a white-clad man stands at right, and an older man in a white shirt with a name badge observes. Red draped seating, maroon curtains and a pedestal fan fill the room. The orange-turbaned figure appears to be a person by visible turban, shawl and bead cues, shown in the act of blessing the recipient.2013-11-04January 05 20142014-01-05November 07 20132013-11-07A photograph of an initiation moment in an indoor hall with white tiled floor and red curtains. On the left, a figure in a rust-red turban with gold trim, a gold-bordered cream and gold shawl, and gold bangles touches the forehead of a young man in a white shirt with raised palm, who is wearing a white name badge. Behind them, a seated man in a white dhoti and shawl with rudraksha beads and a tilak sits; other men and a woman stand watching near a standing fan and a wall banner. The scene reads as a blessing or diksha.2013-11-02A seated woman in a brown and gold turban and gold-bordered sari, wearing a red flower garland and gold bangles, places her right hand on the forehead of a kneeling man in a white shirt with a rudraksha mala. Her hand is pressed to his head in blessing while she holds a small silver cup. Behind her a red and gold cushioned seat and a large pictured portrait backdrop are visible. In the background stands a bald man with white forehead markings, a beaded necklace and a gold shawl. A wall air-conditioner unit and a cream-coloured interior complete the room.2013-11-02A photograph of an indoor blessing moment. A man in a rust-red turban with gold trim, a gold-and-cream draped garment, a red and yellow flower garland, gold bangles and gold earrings sits and smiles while placing his right palm on the forehead of a young man with short dark curly hair. The young man wears a white kurta with a small tag clipped to it and presses his palms together in greeting. Behind them a large portrait backdrop shows a smiling face, a golden figure stands on a table, and a white floor-standing air conditioner is visible on the right. Presentation cues on the blessing figure: turban, ornate gold jewellery and garland, consistent with a probable Swamiji (probable) blessing a devotee, though the identity is an appearance-based label only.2013-11-02A seated man in a rust-orange and gold-bordered sannyasi garment with long swept-back hair, a white vibhuti line on his forehead and a gold bead necklace touches the forehead of a kneeling devotee in a white shirt with palms pressed together. The guru wears a gold wristwatch and rudraksha-style beads on a gold necklace, while a woman in white and red sits behind the devotee. Red drapes and a projection screen fill the background.2014-01-02A photograph of a devotional blessing in a bright indoor hall with white floors and a red curtain. A woman in a maroon turban with gold trim and a gold-bordered beige sari stands and presses her palm to the forehead of a man in a white shirt and white dhoti, whose eyes are closed and head is tilted back. She wears gold bangles and earrings, and white ash marks show on the man's brow. Behind them, several men in white and green shirts stand watching, and a few more people are partly visible at the right edge. Gold ritual vessels sit at the lower left.2013-11-02September 06 20152015-09-06
