A photograph of an outdoor covered courtyard during a ceremony. A man with a long dark beard and orange-and-red clothing sits on an ornate gold throne with a red seat, wearing flower garlands and a rudraksha-style mala, with a multi-coloured fabric canopy above. Many devotees in saffron and orange robes stand around him, some with hands raised in salutation. A woman in white and a woman in a long dress stand near the front, and several people with cameras and a photographer film the scene. In the foreground, offerings are arranged on a colourful cloth: bananas, a basket of flower petals, sugarcane stalks, brass pots and a garland. A decorated umbrella stands at the left and a kalasha-like pot sits on the ground.2017-01-14January 14 20172017-01-14January 14 20172017-01-14Outdoor puja at a covered open-air pavilion with palm trees behind. Priests in orange-saffron dhotis, some bare-chested with rudraksha malas, tend a large golden and green decorated deity murti garlanded with orange and yellow flower strands beneath a decorated umbrella. Foreground has a plate of flowers, bananas, sugarcane stalks, brass pots and a kalasha on a striped cloth. A row of devotees stand with hands folded in anjali, several in white, green and saffron saris and dhotis. A drummer section in orange cloth plays drums to the right. Visual cues do not establish the identity of any person in the scene.2017-01-14Outdoor Pongal-style puja under a open-sided shelter roof. A young priest in orange dhoti and shawl with a beaded necklace stands with palms joined before a deity altar heavily decorated with garlands of yellow and red flowers and fruit. Nearby, a row of devotees in orange, white and saris stands with hands folded, and a seated man on a gold-and-red throne wears orange with a long beaded mala and white garlands; the throne figure shows distinctive long hair and beaded adornment, so this is a person presence. Offerings on a colourful cloth include bananas, sugarcane stalks, flower-filled brass plates, lamps and kalasha-style vessels. Colourful canopy fabric hangs overhead. A camera operator is visible at lower right.2017-01-14January 14 20172017-01-14January 14 20172017-01-14January 15 20162016-01-15August 25 20172017-08-25January 14 20172017-01-14Outdoor temple celebration under a canopy hung with marigold and orange garlands and saffron triangular flags. On a raised red-draped dais at right, a seated figure with long dark hair in orange robes and a white garland sits with hands folded in prayer, surrounded by fruit and flower offerings. In the foreground, many people in white with orange shawls are seated and standing, some holding lit oil lamps and folded hands. A long row of metal plates or dishes covers the ground in front. Banana plants and coconuts decorate the entrance. The seated figure in orange on the dais is a person candidate by appearance, with long hair, saffron robes and garlands, though this is uncertain.2007-01-01April 17 20172017-04-17
