A homa fire ritual at a square orange-brick fire pit with tall flames. A man in an orange-red turban, rudraksha mala and gold ceremonial necklace, wearing an orange-red shawl, leans over the fire and places an offering with his right hand. Behind him a younger man in white with a rudraksha mala and tilak sits holding a brass ladle over a brass bowl. Brass oil lamps, a basket, banana leaves and metal plates of offerings lie on mats around the pit. Seated people in white and orange robes with garlands are visible in the background.

A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night in an open-air setting. A shaved-headed priest in an orange-brown saffron robe and a rudraksha mala sits on a striped cloth, using a long ladle to pour offerings into a brick-lined fire pit with tall flames. Silver bowls of grains and a small metal kalasha sit nearby. Two men in white clothing with red shawls sit at the left, partly visible, and a chair sits behind them. Sacred ash marks decorate the priest's forehead and arms.

A photograph of a homa fire ritual in a hall. A standing-height fire burns in a yellow brick fire pit decorated with white patterns. A man in a rust-red turban with a small gold ornament, rust-red and gold robe, multiple gold and dark bead malas, and glasses kneels at the fire, hand extended toward the flames. Beside him, a young assistant in white with a rudraksha mala and tilak sits near a copper bowl and ladle. Behind them, people in white clothes sit on chairs.

A homa fire ritual in progress. A brick-lined fire pit holds flaming wood and ash at the bottom centre. A man in orange cloth sits cross-legged at the front right, pouring from a small vessel into the fire. Behind the fire, a seated man in a long orange robe with a bare upper body and a wide crimson-and-gold sash, adorned with a large gold pendant and a rudraksha-style necklace, sits with hands together. Beside him a man in a purple cloth and ochre dhoti is seated, and further back a man in white stands. On the right, brass lamps, a metal pot and rows of small white packets are arranged on shelves. Woven striped mats in red, green and blue cover the floor.
