September 13 20142014-09-13July 30 20122012-07-30Night-time puja at a temple. A man in a rust-orange dhoti with a gold waist sash and a gold-beaded garland holds a silver handbell in his right hand and a gold-bordered arm band on his upper arm, bending over a flower-covered offering. Two younger assistants in saffron cloth stand beside him: the left one, with white vibhuti stripes on his forehead and arms, holds his palms together, and the middle one holds a small flame-lit lamp. Flames burn on the offering tray and a brass plate sits on a wooden table; a bright floodlight glows at upper right. Marigold, orange and red flowers and white blossoms fill the foreground.2013-05-27A night-time photograph of a ceremony with a standing figure in a rust-red and gold dhoti-style wrap, bare-shouldered, wearing a heavy gold bead necklace layered over a beaded rust cord, gold armlet and bangles, with hands pressed together and eyes lowered in prayer. Beside him a younger attendant in an orange cloth, white forehead band and beaded necklace holds a flame near a floral arrangement of white, yellow, red and orange flowers and green leaves on a tray with an oil lamp. Several white-clad people stand in the dim background, and a bright light glows at right. The figure's appearance is consistent with a distinctive presentation with long swept hair, gold necklace and rudraksha-style beads, but identity is uncertain.2013-05-27A photograph of an outdoor ashram setting beside a corrugated reddish-brown metal wall, with a strip of colourful prayer flags strung along the top left. A man with long dark hair, a white vibhuti marking on his forehead with a red dot, and ornate gold necklaces with many rudraksha beads wears orange-saffron clothing with a gold waistband and gold armband, smiling as he reaches forward. Facing him, a shaven-headed man in orange robes with rudraksha bracelets holds a large bouquet of white, red and yellow flowers with green leaves wrapped in a red cloth. Another orange-clad person stands partially visible at left. Visible people: three. Swamiji candidate appearance is probable based on the long hair, gold ornaments and rudraksha mala, and the page places him at this event.2013-01-06September 13 20142014-09-13Night-time temple ritual photographed outdoors. A shirtless priest in white dhoti with red-gold border and a green cloth over his shoulder holds a bowl of marigold-type yellow flowers and a white cloth, while a second priest in a pink turban and gold necklace pours liquid from a silver vessel with a spout onto a silver tray. Behind them stand other attendants in saffron-orange and white garments, and a large gilded deity murti or ornament glows at the upper right. A small oil lamp flame burns at the bottom. A parked white van and potted plants sit in the background.2016-09-09December 02 20172017-12-02March 20 20142014-03-20A photograph of a ritual at a temple. A man in an orange saffron shawl and orange garment with a long ornate gold chain-style necklace stands with palms pressed together in namaste, his body and forehead smeared with white sacred ash or paste. Beside him, a bearded man in orange robes wearing a gold necklace and rudraksha-style bead mala stands with eyes lowered. In the lower right, a white-draped deity murti or abhishekam stone is garlanded with white flowers and red blossoms. Pale temple stonework and a corrugated roof form the backdrop.2009-12-16Annadhan during Allahabad Kumbhamela 20132013-01-01 +2 copiesJuly 14 20132013-07-14 +1 copies
