Photograph of a communal food service line under a thatched roof at an ashram kitchen. Volunteers in white clothes and orange shawls serve rice and curry from large steel pots onto steel plates held by a woman in a peach and orange patterned sari on the left. A young man with glasses in white kurta and a rudraksha-style neck cord holds a steel bucket, and other servers ladle food at a long steel counter. Steel vessels, a red-lidded container and a wall with a small framed picture complete the scene.

A photograph of a communal meal service under a thatched shelter open to trees outside. Several young men in white dhotis and orange shawls stand in a line serving food from large steel pots and bowls on a steel counter. Rice and a yellow curry are ladled onto plates. A woman in white with a long braid in the foreground holds a plate of rice, and a bald man in white with a gold-bordered shawl is at the right serving from a pot. Other people in white stand behind the line, and a few figures are partly visible in the background.

A photo of an annadan style meal service in a hall with orange curtains and ceiling fans. Volunteers in white clothes and aprons, some wearing gloves, serve food from steel pots and trays onto plates held by a line of people. On the left a man in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala stands near the serving counter. A bald man with a long beard in white clothes stands among the line, with a woman in a pink dupatta and a woman in white at the right. No clear, unambiguous evidence of a person's presence is visible; the orange-robed figure is not identifiable as him from appearance alone.

Beside her, a man in orange robes and a yellow-beaded garland holds a steel pot, while a bearded sannyasi in orange robes stands at the back. Men in white kurta-style clothes with orange shawls sit at the counter or stand in line, and steel plates, flatbread and paper cups are set out. White plastic chairs line the right side of the hall, where more seated people eat.
