A large deity murti in a golden arched niche is draped with marigold garlands and red and orange flowers, and it sits on a white and red decorated pedestal. Several men in saffron-orange robes stand at the granite platform in front, one holding a lamp toward the deity and another tending offerings on silver trays with flowers. A man in a yellow shawl and white clothes stands at left beside a fellow in orange holding a long staff. Red curtains frame the open pavilion, and white plants and flowers decorate its edges. The scene looks like a puja or aarti in progress.2008-12-26 +1 copiesA temple shrine interior during a ritual at the Mahashivaratri festival. A central figure seated on a low dais wears a tall black turban, a gold necklace, a long yellow-and-gold garland, and a white forehead band; his hands are gloved in white and he is surrounded by devotees. Behind him stand large deity murti with gold crowns and ornaments, framed by garlands of yellow, orange, red and green flowers and a gold arch. A man in orange dhoti with white markings on his arms and a rudraksha mala holds a ritual vessel and a bell, while attendants in orange and red robes stand nearby. Devotees in red and white clothes with white-painted faces sit in the foreground, some offering flowers and water near a basin.2016-03-07March 07 20162016-03-07November 06 20112011-11-06A photograph inside a temple shrine lit warmly from above, with red curtains framing the sides and green leaves hung over the arch. Two deity murtis stand together, adorned with bright garlands of orange, yellow, red and purple flowers. A woman in an orange sari pours liquid from a metal vessel over the deity figures. Beside her, several people in orange and saffron robes stand in attendance, one holding a small lamp or offering. Small brass oil lamps stand on the platform, and a white marble statue of a seated figure sits at the base. The setting suggests abhishekam, a ritual bathing of the deities.2010-02-12Photo of a temple shrine decorated with garlands in yellow, pink, purple and green. Two standing figures in the central shrine are dressed in vivid colours and gold jewellery, flanked by a golden canopy and tiered floral arrangements. In front, a man in an orange robe stands beside a woman in a brown-orange sari, who offers a lit lamp or ritual item at the altar. Brass vessels, a small oil lamp and flower offerings sit on the stone platform, with carved stone pillars framing the scene. Two figures appear in the sanctum and one more devotee at left, so the scene shows a few people at an abhishekam or puja.2013-11-05March 07 20162016-03-07March 07 20162016-03-07A photograph of a temple shrine decorated with orange cloth hangings and banana leaves. In the centre, a deity murti with a crown and marigold garlands is set in a golden arch framed with flowers.
