A bare-chested man in a white dhoti with a maroon border and a multicoloured silk head-wrap bends over a brass multi-wick oil lamp, its flames burning brightly, while he holds a silver tray of pink and white flowers. Rudraksha-style beads hang at his neck and a bangle is on his wrist. Beside him stands a basket of yellow and white flowers, and a golden arched frame, flower garlands and small brass vessels surround a decorated floor spread with striped mats. Incense smoke rises in the background, where other figures are faintly visible. The setting suggests a night ritual of lamp offering.2016-12-12December 12 20162016-12-12A photograph of a ritual abhishekam at a shrine. In the foreground a priest bent forward wears a purple-and-red turban and white dhoti, holding a lit five-flame brass aarti lamp over a decorated deity murti. The murti sits beside a large arrangement of white, yellow and purple flowers with a pink-and-gold cloth. Other priests in white and dark turbans stand in the background amid smoke and colourful haze.2016-12-13January 06 20182018-01-06December 12 20162016-12-12July 16 20152015-07-16January 06 20182018-01-06January 06 20182018-01-06January 06 20182018-01-06A temple puja in progress before a deity murti dressed in white silk and draped with red and yellow flower garlands, with red flower arrangements and a gold prabhavali behind it. A bald priest bent forward in a white dhoti with a yellow-and-orange shawl and a rudraksha mala holds a lit camphor flame on a plate toward the deity. Another priest stands behind him on the right in a white dhoti and red garment, and a third priest with a bare torso holds a tray at the left edge. Brass lamps, a bell and flower-strewn offerings sit on the altar in the foreground.2018-03-02A bare-chested priest in white dhoti with coloured striped border and a pink headband stands at a fire ritual, holding a long handled ladle over a silver oil lamp lit with a bright flame. Beside him a fire pit burns in front of a kalasha decorated with yellow marigold garlands and red flowers, with a silver bowl nearby. A white-draped table and a brass object appear in the background. Sacred ash marks are visible on his arm, and he wears a rudraksha mala. The scene suggests a homa or yagna. No face-based identification is made, and the person is described by role as a priest.2018-01-06January 06 20182018-01-06
