A shaved-headed priest in an orange-red dhoti and shawl, with a gold necklace and a bangle, pours a liquid from a metal vessel over a golden-orange statue of a standing male figure in a short dhoti. Behind them is an ornate gilded arch with a red curtain and a strand of dark beads hanging overhead. In the foreground are a small silver shrine structure, a brass pot, and a white marble statue of a seated figure with raised hand in abhaya gesture. The statue being bathed is a devotional murti, not a living person. The page excerpt concerns a Brahma Sutras talk, but the image does not show that event.2011-03-03A photograph of a ritual abhishekam in a temple setting. A man in orange saffron robes with a white forehead band and red bindi pours water from a large brass vessel over a small metal yantra-like object on a tiled platform.
