A bare-chested priest in a white dhoti bends forward to offer a lit lamp tray to a central linga draped in yellow flowers and green leaves. Behind the linga, large deity murtis wear jewelled ornaments and garlands, one holding a sword-like object. On the right an older man in a white shawl and gold-bordered dhoti stands with his hands folded near tall brass oil lamps. Some festival text is printed along the bottom of the image.2021-01-19December 02 20172017-12-02February 19 20152015-02-19 +1 copiesPhoto 11728713 +1 copiesJanuary 01 20092009-01-01A photograph inside a richly decorated temple shrine. A bare-chested priest in orange cloth with a saffron shawl and a headband stands at the centre, his hand resting on a golden arch over a lingam with a white tripundra marking. Behind him, gilded deity murtis with crowns and jewelled necklaces stand under ornate mirror-work arches. Flanking figures wear red turbans, pink and maroon garments and heavy jewelled necklaces. The figures are statues, not living people, and the priest is a devotee performing abhishekam or puja at the sanctum.2020-11-24A priest in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl stands with his back partly turned, facing a shrine and performing a ritual with a lit oil lamp over a black-and-white decorated stone linga. He wears white sacred markings on his bare chest and arms. Behind him stand large golden deity murtis in gold crowns and garlands, one with a cobra hood over a linga, the central figure holding a trident-like staff. Flanking statues wear garlands of white flowers in yellow, red and orange, with a red-and-gold attire on the right figure. Gold arched frames inlaid with blue and colourful stones surround the shrine. The scene suggests a puja or abhishekam at the altar. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable from appearance.2021-06-20February 19 20152015-02-19 +1 copiesA temple ritual photograph of a Shiva lingam decorated with yellow and orange marigold garlands, set before large deity murtis with a golden arch. Priests in white dhotis and bare-chested priests with sacred ash on their bodies perform abhishekam, one holding a lit lamp or plate of offerings aloft while another pours from a vessel. Golden oil lamp stands flank the scene, and an elderly man in white with a yellow shawl folds his hands in devotion at right. Bright floral decorations and gold ornamentation fill the sanctum.2021-01-19
