Indoor temple ceremony with a row of men seated on the floor, bare-chested and wearing white dhotis with gold-bordered yellow cloth, rudraksha malas around their necks, and white and horizontal sandalwood or vibhuti marks on their bodies. Several hold small cups or vessels and prepare offerings on brass trays with fruit, flowers and sweets; brass lamps and kalasha-style vessels sit on a low wooden platform over a patterned red carpet. Behind them, devotees in white and colourful saris and dhotis sit or stand, and a gold and yellow decorated shrine appears in the background. The scene reads as a puja or abhishekam ritual gathering.2019-07-15Large crowd seated on the floor of a temple hall during a ritual puja. In the foreground, several bare-chested men in white dhoti-style cloth wear rudraksha malas and hold small offering plates, dishes, and lamps. Behind them, women in saris and salwar kameez sit closely together, some in orange, blue, and red. Colourful garlands hang on deity murtis at the back, with a gold-framed altar and brass lamps in front.
