Three young girls sit cross-legged on an orange cloth at the base of a decorated dais during a pada puja. The girl on the left wears a red silk dress with gold borders and gold necklaces, holding a pink lotus. The middle girl wears an orange and navy outfit with a white beaded necklace, holding a pink lotus in both hands. The girl on the right wears a dark green silk dress with gold trim and a white garland, holding a pink lotus. Behind them, a large gilded deity murti in orange and green draped attire is seated on a golden throne, with petals scattered on the floor and a garland of white and orange flowers nearby.

A photograph of children performing a ritual outdoors in sandy ground beside a bamboo fence and palm plants. Around a hexagonal arrangement of flat stones decorated with green leaves and scattered petals, boys in saffron-orange sleeveless tops and dhotis and a boy in a red cloth with bare chest stand or sit. A girl in a red-and-gold dress stands at the back left, and a girl in yellow-gold sari and dark blouse stands at right. A seated boy in red cloth holds a small pot or plate, and another seated child holds a brass-coloured vessel. A blue plastic bucket and a small cube toy lie on the ground. Scattered pink petals cover the sand.

Four young girls sit cross-legged on an orange cloth before a temple shrine, each holding a pink lotus flower. From left: a girl in pink and green dress, a girl in orange salwar, a girl in yellow and maroon with gold necklaces, and a girl in cream and navy with pearl necklaces. Behind them stands a large red-draped deity murti with yellow garlands, beside gold ornate shrine elements and a white staircase with red stripes. The scene suggests a pada puja offering of lotuses.

Outdoor puja on a whitewashed raised platform beside banana plants. Five sannyasis in saffron and orange robes sit cross-legged, including a young one on the right in red-orange cloth with a yellow border, while the two people on the right wear white dhotis and white cloth. Behind them stands a large ganesha murti with a red-orange body and a garland, next to a shrine with decorated deity figures, a brass lamp and a red and white striped wall. A tall red ring hangs from a pole above.

A photograph of a pada puja at a temple at night. A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and an orange-bordered shawl kneels on an orange mat, holding a brass plate and tending to four young girls seated before him. The girls wear bright silk dresses in pink, green, orange, yellow and red with gold trim and jewellery, and hold pink flowers with hands raised in devotion. Scattered red flower petals lie on the mat, and behind them stands a deity murti draped in red and orange cloth and garlanded with yellow and white flowers beside a golden shrine. Striped red and white steps rise on the right.

Night photo of a row of young boys seated in a line at a ritual, each wearing white marigold and jasmine garlands and wide white sacred ash marks on the forehead and arms. The boy in front wears a shaved head and an orange-and-gold silk dhoti; the others wear orange, mustard and teal cloth, and one bare-chested boy has a white sacred thread. Small garlanded vessels rest in front of them. At right, a fire pit blazes beside a blurred deity murti dressed in pink, orange and gold garlands. Yellow flower petals lie on the ground at left.

Several young boys in saffron-orange robes sit cross-legged on mats during a ritual in a hall with red curtains. The boy in front holds a small brass vessel and a sprig of green leaves, with flowers and brass plates of petals and offerings arranged on silver trays nearby. Behind them, adults in orange and white sit in rows, and an older man on the right with a shaved head, white forehead markings, a rudraksha mala and orange robes speaks. Silver poles with cords divide the seating area.
