In the foreground, a coconut wrapped with orange-saffron thread sits on turmeric powder beside a gold-toned ornamental hand-shaped piece with fingers and a decorative rod, plus yellow marigold petals. Warm lamplight gives the scene a devotional, puja-like atmosphere.2016-12-19Close-up photo of two turmeric-coated coconuts wrapped with bright yellow cotton thread, resting on a silver tray filled with yellow grains of turmeric-dyed rice. The background is a plain peach-coloured wall. No people are visible, and the scene appears to be a ritual offering arrangement such as a puja or marriage-related ceremony.2012-07-09Close-up photo of a ritual exchange in a temple-like room. A man in white dhoti with gold-bordered cloth and a heavy gold bead necklace holds a silver plate of yellow-orange thread or kalava and ties it on another person's wrist; that wrist shows a green-and-clear bead bracelet and gold bangles. Beside them, a person in an orange-red saffron robe with gold border and a gold bead necklace with a pendant holds a second silver plate. Behind is an ornate gold-and-red throne-like chair, and on the right a tray with flowers, red cloth and small ritual items. Orange-painted walls surround the scene.2010-12-23January 02 20132013-01-02November 01 20112011-11-01October 18 20152015-10-18
