A photograph inside a temple shrine where a figure in a maroon-red sleeveless top and a gold-bordered maroon dhoti stands at left, holding a flame toward a tall silver and gold lamp stand with multiple lit wicks. Behind it, a large deity murti decorated with a silver and gold ornament-laden frame, flanked by colourful garlands of yellow, red, pink and white flowers draped on tall standing figures. A small figure wearing a maroon turban and a crescent-marked headdress stands at left, and another standing figure in a dark robe and turban is at right. Brass lamps and an offering plate sit at the base, with a floral garland and a golden seat on the right. This appears to be an aarti offering with oil lamps before the deity murti.2014-12-05Photo of a temple puja before a golden deity murti pair seated within a dense arch of multicoloured flower garlands in red, yellow, purple and white. A standing priest in an orange-red dhoti with a yellow border and a bare upper body, wearing rudraksha beads and sacred ash, faces the altar on the left. A devotee in an orange-red garment with a yellow border stands at centre, hands raised to a brass oil-lamp stand holding five lit lamps. Strands of pearl and flower garlands hang over a golden kalasha-shaped vessel. Two attendant figures in red and orange headwear stand on the sides. Golden lamp stands and a green cloth lie in the foreground.2015-01-04A photograph of an abhishekam at a temple shrine.
