February 07 20132013-02-07Outdoor camp scene with a wooden swing-like seat suspended from a metal frame by chains, decorated with an orange-red cushioned seat, a small red and gold umbrella and a black platform. Tridents and ceremonial staffs stand around it. Behind are a yellow canopy, several red, white and green flags, and painted cloth backdrops showing a deity figure and a temple scene. Charred logs and ash lie in the foreground. No people are visible.2013-02-07Outdoor camp under a clear blue sky with a large open fire pit of blackened logs in the foreground. Behind it stands a decorated palanquin-style seat with red and gold cushions, a small umbrella and hanging chains, set beside a painted backdrop of a deity murti. Saffron, orange, white and purple flags hang from bamboo poles, and a yellow canopy shelters the area. A red and black patterned cloth is spread on the left. A small poster of a man hangs on a pole at top. Two or three people in orange clothing sit far left under the canopy, mostly out of focus.2013-02-07An outdoor festival scene at a pilgrimage camp showing an ornate gilded palanquin mounted on a green-draped wheeled cart. The golden carriage has carved panels, a curled serpent-like arched frame with red, pink, green and blue tassels, and an orange umbrella with teal fringe and a black leaf motif. Black speaker boxes flank the cart and a steel truss bridge spans the background under a pale sky. Several people walk nearby: a man in a blue shirt and dark trousers, a person in a red robe, and others partly visible at the edges. A small portrait is affixed to a pole at right. The palanquin appears to be a ratha for procession.2013-02-14April 22 20162016-04-22A festival procession on a decorated ratha or palanquin under a tall orange canopy with fringed edges. The structure is draped with marigold and garland strands, hung with tasselled bells in red, orange, gold and green, and topped with a gilded finial. Two figures ride the platform: one in an orange robe with a visible bare upper body and a headdress, and a second in orange robes beside him. A crowd of devotees fills the foreground, many with dark hair, and a red flag and a metal trident stand at the right, next to a decorated gateway. The photograph is taken against a pale hazy sky.2009-12-27A seated man in a red-and-maroon robe sits on a small ornate seat within a garlanded swing structure hung with white flower strands, in front of a red velvet throne backed by a gold and bronze carved panel. He wears a dark head covering, a large orange-white flower garland, and a gold pendant necklace, with hands resting in his lap. Flanking him are tall gilt lamp stands, golden trident-like staffs, a tiger-striped cushion, and a carved figure at the right. The raised pink-carpeted dais suggests a ceremonial abhishekam or padapuja setting.2016-05-24May 24 20162016-05-24December 22 20102010-12-22A seated man in a red-orange robe sits on an ornate golden throne with a tiger-striped cushion under a canopy of white flower garlands hanging from a gilded pole. He wears a long gold-and-white garland, a gold chest ornament, bangles, and a dark turban-style headwrap. A small gold footstool with a red cushion stands in front of the throne, and offerings wrapped in orange cloth lie on the red floor. Silver and brass lamps stand on either side, and carved golden pillars frame the tent interior. A standing golden figure is at the left edge.2016-05-24February 10 20132013-02-10Outdoor festival procession at a Kumbh Mela-style gathering. A long-haired man in orange saffron robes and a rudraksha mala sits smiling on a gilded golden palanquin decorated with marigold garlands, hanging gold bells and multicoloured tassels, under an orange and teal canopy. A bald man in orange robes kneels at the palanquin's edge, arm extended, and another bald man in orange stands beside it holding a mobile phone. A dense crowd of men and women in shawls and wraps fills the foreground, with a thatched hut and sky behind. The long-haired figure has distinctive hair and saffron clothing with a rudraksha mala, so this is a probable Swamiji candidate.2013-02-10
