Night photograph of a temple scene outdoors. In the foreground, two figures seen from behind: the right one, a man with a shaved head in a pink and gold draped cloth and a beaded necklace, raises a flaming torch high in his right hand; the left one, shaved-headed and wearing a white and gold cloth with a beaded necklace, faces the statues, with pinkish lighting on his skin and cloth. Beyond them stand grey stone deity murtis on a raised base in front of an orange-red temple wall with a barred window, framed by tree foliage. The lamp flame is the only bright light, consistent with an aarti.

Night photograph outdoors at a small shrine beside a red-orange wall. Three grey stone deity murtis stand on a raised platform edged with reddish stones and scattered flower petals. A bare-chested man with white ash-smeared skin and a saffron-orange cloth draped over his shoulders holds a lit oil lamp aloft toward the murtis while cradling a metal vessel in his other hand. Leafy bamboo and a tree are lit from below, and a faded multicoloured cloth hangs on the left.

Night photograph of an outdoor shrine with a group of grey stone deity murtis standing on a raised stone plinth in front of an orange-red boundary wall and a dark tree. A man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, bare-chested, holds up a lit oil lamp in his right hand while a small brass vessel is in his left, performing aarti toward the murtis. A partially visible person in a striped garment stands at the right edge.

At night, a man in an orange saffron dhoti and a decorated cylindrical headpiece with embroidered patterns holds up a brass lamp with a bright flame toward a group of grey stone deity murtis standing on a pedestal. Dense green foliage and an orange wall form the background. A few people's hands and partial figures appear at the right edge in the foreground, pressed together in reverence. The scene suggests an evening aarti offering to the stone deities.

Night photograph of an outdoor shrine. Three dark grey stone deity murtis stand on pedestals against a backdrop of dense green bamboo and foliage. A bare-chested man with a shaved head and white tilak markings on his forehead and arms wears a saffron-orange shawl and orange dhoti with a gold border. He holds a brass bell in his left hand and raises a brass aarti lamp with a bright flame in his right, performing aarti before the statues. Small pebbles and red stones ring the base of the shrine.

Night photograph of a temple ritual before three grey stone deity murti standing in front of dark green foliage and an orange wall. At right, a bare-chested priest with dark skin wears an orange dhoti and a tall blue and white patterned crown, and holds a brass bell in his left hand while raising a burning flame in his right. Chalk-white markings are visible on his arm and a bead necklace on his chest. The flame is bright orange against the dark background.

Night photograph of an outdoor shrine court lit by warm lamps. Three grey stone deity murtis stand on a low stone platform strewn with petals, the central figure with a mount beside it. A bald, white-smeared man in a saffron-orange shawl and a beaded mala performs an aarti, holding a bright flame in a lamp toward the statues. Orange walls and leafy bamboo frame the scene.

Night-time photograph of a priest in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, bare-chested, holding a lit oil lamp in his right hand and a small vessel in his left, performing aarti before a group of grey stone deity murtis standing on a low stone platform. A tree and an orange boundary wall are behind the figures. A partially visible devotee with folded hands stands at the right edge. The priest is not shown with distinctive visible cues of the page's named subject, so his identity is not established.

A night-time outdoor ritual at a stone shrine. A bald, bare-chested man with a sandalwood mark on his forehead and a rudraksha mala around his neck stands at right, holding a brass aarti lamp with a large flame in his right hand. He wears an orange and yellow shawl over his shoulder and small earrings and bangles. Before him stand grey stone deity murti figures draped with garlands of yellow and red flowers, set against dark foliage with strung fairy lights. The man is performing aarti, a lamp offering, to the murtis.

Night-time photograph of an outdoor shrine beside dark foliage. Two grey stone deity murtis stand on a stone plinth, one garlanded with white and orange flowers. In the foreground a devotee in white dhoti kneels with his back to the camera, his bare shoulders and upper back smeared with pink and yellow powder. To the right a second man in white dhoti and white cloth over his shoulder, his face and skin also marked with coloured powder, holds a silver lamp with a lit flame in one hand and a small bell in the other. Red brick walls and scattered stones surround the shrine. The scene suggests an aarti or puja performed with the lamp. No central seated figure is visible.
