Food is laid out in the foreground on banana leaves and in steel pots, bowls and plates, including a large steel basin of white food. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand at right and centre; the man at right wears a long gold-coloured beaded necklace and a red forehead mark. Seated devotees in a long stone-pillared hall with festoon flags overhead take a shared meal served on banana leaves. In the foreground, two seated men face away from the camera: the one at left is bald, wearing a flower garland and white dhoti with a white shawl over the shoulders, while the one at right has long dark hair and wears a saffron-orange cloth. A row of saffron-robed sannyasis and white-clad devotees sits along the right side, with steel tumblers and leaf plates arranged on the floor. Standing observers in white dhotis and a photographer line the left. a person candidate is ambiguous; a figure's appearance is not distinct enough to assign identity, so the seated men are described by role.

A photograph of a long hall with stone pillars and strings of multicoloured pennant flags overhead, where a group of people sits in rows on the floor before banana-leaf plates of food. A bare-chested, orange-clad man stands in the centre with his arms raised in a blessing-like pose, and a man in white dhoti and shirt pours from a vessel nearby. Two seated figures in the foreground wear orange cloth, one with a flower garland, and a brass plate with flowers and small lamps sits on the floor. Sannyasi-style orange robes dominate the seated devotees. The scene looks like a ritual meal or annadan-style gathering, though the exact rite is not clear from the image alone.
