July 01 20082008-07-01A photograph taken in a tiled temple interior of devotees performing worship at a shrine. In the foreground a man in a cream kurta with rolled sleeves and a red thread on his wrist bends forward over a metal tray holding flowers and offerings. Behind him a man in an orange shawl over white clothes and eyeglasses bends down, and a figure in an orange robe with a black beaded mala leans over a stone lingam area with a small oil lamp. Another devotee in an orange garment kneels to the right, and a woman in a gold-embroidered orange sari sits in the lower right corner. Flowers, a brass plate with coins and money, and a metal grille surround the shrine.2008-07-01July 01 20082008-07-01A photograph inside a tiled shrine chamber with white walls and a row of green-and-white Om panels above. A man in an orange robe with a black rudraksha mala and a saffron shawl sits smiling on the floor beside a dark stone Shivalinga, which is decorated with a large bouquet of purple, yellow and white flowers. A seated man in a cream kurta and white dhoti, with a red thread on his wrist, sits in the foreground beside a steel plate of rice and offerings. A standing devotee in white and another in orange move past in the background, and an orange-draped canopy with gold trim hangs above the lingam. The scene shows abhishekam-style worship with flowers and offerings. The orange-robed man is an appearance-based probable candidate for a person, identified by his saffron robe, black mala and smiling seated posture beside the lingam.2008-07-01Indoor temple scene with white tiled walls and a tiled floor.
