A photograph of a riverside ghat at dawn where a figure in saffron-orange robes sits barefoot on the stone steps, pouring water from a clear vessel with a blue lid into the river. The seated figure has long dark hair and a white-marked forehead, and a trident-like staff stands upright beside them. Behind, a crowd of devotees stands at the edge of the water with palms pressed together in namaste, several wearing white or dark clothing and one wearing a white cap. Marigold petals float on the water, and a wooden boat with yellow and red trim is visible on the right, with a shirtless man near it. Hazy buildings line the far bank. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure in saffron robes with long hair and a trident-like staff fits the presentation cues, pouring water as a ritual offering, so this is marked as probable.2006 - Glimpses From Varanasi Yatra2006 - Glimpses From Varanasi YatraJanuary 06 20062006-01-06A crowded outdoor ritual scene in front of a stone structure, with many devotees in white clothes behind.
