Ritual abhishekam at a temple shrine. Two priests in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls, with white tilak marks on their foreheads and arms, bend over a golden Shiva lingam decorated with garlands of red, yellow, green and purple flowers. One priest holds a silver plate of offerings while pouring. Behind them stand golden deity murtis of Shiva and a consort, both wearing crowns and jewelled garlands and draped in floral strands. Brass oil lamps and a white flower sit at the base of the lingam, with a golden canopy and a carved stone arch framing the scene. Figures are foreground devotees performing puja.2013-03-10Photo inside a temple sanctum of a priest in a rust-brown dhoti and matching shoulder cloth, with a long dark braid and a brown turban, reaching to adorn a deity murti with a dense garland of yellow, orange, red and white flowers. The murti is gilded and decorated with green stone-like ornaments. On the left a young attendant bare-chested with a rudraksha mala holds a silver plate.
